Our well-loved and tatty family copy front and center. It was dropped on ground in the rain running for a bus. This was for the first week of the #PSCHAPTERCHALLENGE which started July 1st. The prompt each Monday is the next consecutive chapter title in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.

Seeing the raven in the photo reminded me about my masthead mascot change. A person thought my blog was about Horror books because of the raven, and they were disappointed when it wasn't, so I decided to change it to a crow. Ha ha.
There are times when our blogosphere lives, lived online, spill over into our real lives and Grace from Rebel Mommy's passing has been on my mind every day. I keep thinking about her children. I keep thinking about how privileged I am to be able to nag my son about buying his college texts, or not unplugging the toaster. How lucky I am to be reading a new book even if it's awful, and how beautiful the afternoon sun is even if it's showing me the layer of dust on my bookshelves. It has made my disappointments seem less than trivial, even selfish. I also keep thinking about how lucky we were to have Grace in our lives; whether it was years or only months. Make her life have meant something to your life: whether it's being more cheerful as she was, more optimistic and supportive as she was, loving, gracious, empathetic, giving and grateful... all as she was.
