TELL ME TUESDAY #70

TELL ME TUESDAY is a feature that oozed from my post Twitter party fried brains. It is a floating feature (depending on your reading style), where you tell us what you are reading now, and why, and what you will be reading in the future from your tbr pile, and why. I am oh so curious why people read what they read. So tell me!

The Ho-Ho-Ho Read-a-thon really burned me out and I only got one and a half books read for the Anti-Bullying Read-a-thon. It was still a big plus because I found out about books that are about bullying that I had no idea were. A MONSTER CALLS, SIMON VS. THE HOMO SAPIEN AGENDA, and MORE HAPPY THAN NOT; all three of which I already had. I was also recommended a book called SENTIMENTAL BULLS#*T, which I am loving. I haven't run into any bullying yet, but the writing is wonderful. So anyway, I am trying to finish up A Monster Calls in print and the Sentimental Bulls#*t ebook right now. I have been alternating back and forth according to my mood.
This ebook is still only 99¢.
And the Simon Vs. ebook is still $1.99!

And my next read is...
I swore when I was making up my eARC schedule this book was supposed to pub next Tuesday, but it is today, so I am shelving A Monster Calls and getting on this one right away. I just found out on Twitter it has a FREE original soundtrack, HERE. I listened to the first two tracks and the music is magical!
What are you reading? Tell me!

THURSDAY TAG: Thankful

I am doing another tag from LL & A's monthly feature. This month it is a Thanksgiving themed tag. I am not going to tag anyone, so if you are feeling taggish and thankful, join me. Just make sure you link your post  back to LL & A's feature. Also, I would love it if you left your link in my comments. If you do I will add it to the bottom of this post. I would like to thank Library Luv from BEYOND THE BOOK REVIEWS
for always giving me a heads up on Twitter when she puts the new tag up.

1. WHAT IS A BOOK COVER THAT REMINDS YOU OF THANKSGIVING?
GOODREADS
Because the guitars always come out at some point in the day, whether it is at my house or a friend's. Plus, people are always talking about their guitar Christmas wishlist at the table!
♦♦♦

2. TWO AUTHORS YOU ARE THANKFUL FOR.
Madeline L'Engle for sparking my deep love of Science Fiction in third grade (eight years old).
And J.K. Rowling for creating a series that was the foundation of a major bonding experience for our family.

3. A BOOK YOU LIKED BUT WOULDN'T READ TWICE.

4. WHICH FIVE FICTIONAL CHARACTERS WOULD YOU LIKE TO INVITE TO THANKSGIVING DINNER?
Atticus Finch
Scout Finch
Jem Finch
Calpurnia
Boo Radly

5. WHAT IS A BOOK THAT IS STUFFED WITH ACTION.
Native American faerie action! Yeah, think about that. File this under ultra-unique.

6. IF YOU COULD MAKE ANY FOOD ITEM FROM A BOOK, AND SERVE IT FOR THANKSGIVING, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Applesauce is one of the foods served in A CHRISTMAS CAROL for holidays feasts. I make a rustic brown applesauce that my uncle's wife, who was Welsh, always made for Sunday dinners. It is chunky, very sweet, and has a lot of cinnamon in it. My son hates it, and because it takes some work to make, I only make it for Thanksgiving now.

7. ONE FALL-ISH BOOK OTHERS SHOULD READ FOR THANKSGIVING.
I think because it is about family love, trust, and loyalty it is a wonderful Thanksgiving read. Plus, it is about sisters, and I am always very thankful for my little sister!

8. Two books you are thankful for.
These were the two books that started my reading passion.

9. WHICH TWO BOOKS MASHED TOGETHER WOULD YOU LIKE TO READ?

10. IN GENERAL WHAT ARE YOU THANKFUL FOR THIS YEAR?
My son was seriously ill from 16 to 21. Last year and this year he has been doing really well, and getting better every day, so that is something to be extremely thankful for.

Katherine from I WISH I LIVED IN A LIBRARY also felt bookishly thankful, and you can find her tag post, HERE.

TELL ME TUESDAY #69

TELL ME TUESDAY is a feature that oozed from my post Twitter party fried brains. It is a floating feature (depending on your reading style), where you tell us what you are reading now, and why, and what you will be reading in the future from your tbr pile, and why. I am oh so curious why people read what they read. So tell me!

Joining us this week...

Shannon from REX ROBOT REVIEWS
Pili from IN LOVE WITH HANDMADE
Elizabeth from SO LONG... & THANKS FOR ALL THE FISH

Go have a peek at their latest grabs and tell them yours!

I finished my Ho-Ho-Ho Read-A-Thon Challenge. I wanted to read three, but I managed four. My thoughts? Newer Christmas stories are not for me. The only one above three stars was the classic A CHRISTMAS CAROL by Dickens, and I rated it five stars. I listened to the 99¢ added narration that you can get with the free Kindle Classics ebook. The narrator is Tim Curry and it was glorious.

Right away I started my reads for the anti-bullying readathon. These back-to-back, one week long read-a-thons are going to fry my brains!
I started out with TALES FROM THE BULLY BOX and A MONSTER CALLS on my TBR, and was recommended SENTIMENTAL BULLSH*T when I asked for suggestions of free and 99¢ books on my challenge post. I think that might be enough, but I will take more bargain suggestions just in case because TFtBB is short stories and AMC has a lot of illustrations.
