MARCH READING WRAP-UP

LOOKING FORWARD
UPCOMING EVENTS, POSTS, AND THEMES
APRIL 2019 EDITION

As you can see my monthly wrap-up has a new post title and header. It will still be posted the first weekend of every month, I was off a bit this time because of Dewey's 24 Read-A-Thon "jet lag". I am also going to be combining my WOW and Book Jacket post into a monthly first Wednesday post as just Book Jacket. This will free up three Thursdays for Thoroughly Random Thursdays. See details below in the LOOKING FORWARD section.

I participated in DEWEY'S 24 HOUR READ-A-THON this weekend, and I tried reading all of THE PASSAGE, but I missed it by an hour. If I hadn't started an hour late and taken a two hour nap there wouldn't have been a problem. Ha ha. I still listened to nearly all of the 37+ hours of the audiobook. I listen on 2X, which is normal speech speed here in New York State, so it should have only taken around nineteen hours.

As many of you know our cat, Attie, passed away last month.

Her favorite toy was a dollar store sock with crinkly papers and catnip stuffed inside; tied off with a knot. The energy in the house feels very strange without any furry family around.

This was one of my Facebook posts.

I was sick with that respiratory flu for almost two months! Then when I finally went to the doctor I picked up an eye infection there, and then I dislocated my knee a couple of weeks ago. I was feeling pretty abysmal about life in general and I'm sorry I was shite at blog hopping and commenting. My eye is fine now and I finally got some pain meds for my knee, and although I still have some chest congestion it doesn't feel like my lungs are being violently ripped out through my nose when I cough. My mood is much better now and I should be more consistent visiting blogs, catching up on commenting, and chatting with you all!

My buddy Jolene from JO'S BOOK BLOG went to Japan to visit her son and brought back these novelty flavored Kit Kats for me! Thank you, Jo! You can't imagine how much this cheered me up. My favorite flavor was apple, which is saying something because imitation apple is not something I usually like. My second favorite was the matcha green tea. There was also raspberry, banana, and sake flavors; and a roasted green tea flavor called HOJICHA. I want to buy some hojicha tea to drink. It is an interesting taste! It was difficult picking favorites because they were all so good. If you missed the link to the 350 flavors of Japanese Kit Kat article I posted in February's Blog All About It, you can read it: HERE.

I am going to be doing the GRATITUDE SCAVENGER HUNT every month over on Instagram. I don't know who started it, so if you do... let me know so I can give proper attribution.
1. My organic blood orange hard candies make me happy.
2. Sending an Alice in Wonderland postcard to someone would make them smile. I am going to buy postcard stamps on Thursday so I can make some people smile!
3. The little purple soap was my grandmother's. She put them in her dresser drawers to scent them. She also wore the perfume, so it reminds me of her when I smell it.
4. I love looking at my collection of Beatrix Potter miniature hardcovers.
5. My favorite color is purple and I love violets, so I chose the box to my grandmother's soap.
6. I love picking up smooth stones in nature. I found this egg shaped one when I was at university and I've kept it all these years.
7. I want to learn how to paint feathers so I can gift them to people, just because.

If you do this SCAVENGER HUNT let me know and I'll add your link next month!
