My answers are based on the title character in Hidden Magic: The Adventures Of Saffron Browne.

Saffron is a nine year old with long brown pigtail braids and dark eyes.

She has bare feet (usually somewhat dirty), is wearing beat up jeans, and an over sized punk band t-shirt.

No accessories, unless you count the bandaids she usually has on her knees and feet from climbing trees and getting scraped up. Ha ha.

Not really. Her grandmother clucks her tongue about the constant bare feet and sloppy t-shirts, but other than that, no.

Yes, in an "it doesn't matter" way. She sometimes wishes she were taller, but that is for practical matters like being able to reach things without having to call an adult, not for appearance's sake.
