Last month was the annual DOG DAYS OF SUMMER celebration Jolene from JO'S BOOK BLOG and I started co-hosting in 2017. We had a blast again this year and have already been messaging each other on Facebook about next year!

Jolene concentrated on the reading aspects of the celebration and I looked after the activities: two DOG TAGS and a Tuesday Bookstagram challenge. We both had giveaways, and Jo also donated $1 for every book with a dog in it or on it, we all read in the month of August, to the local rescue shelter where she volunteers!

My giveaway for a $12 gift card was based on the activities completed, plus every dog book read and reviewed in August.

Barb from BOOKER T'S FARM won. Congratulations, Barb!

These are the 12 books I read with dogs in them. We buddy read MISSING MIKE for DDOS. Jolene read 13 and our wonderful participants read 12 more for a total of $37, but Jo rounded her rescue donation up to $50! The donation was made in memory of the senior foster dog she had and later adopted from the rescue, Trixie, who passed away earlier this year.

♥ TRIXIE ♥

Here's Jolene giving the DDOS donation to the director of the AHEINZ57 rescue. The rescue does more than just local work. They take in dogs from high kill shelters from around the country and also help clear shelters in natural disaster areas, so the shelters can house pets displaced by fire and flooding until their owners can have them back.

This is Jolene with a dog taken in after Hurricane Harvey.

Make sure to drop by and have a peek at Jolene's DDOS WRAP-UP POST!

My August BOOKSTAGRAM BOOST featured all dog accounts, of course!

Help us plan for next year. We will still be reading dog books because that is the heart of DDOS, but we need new activities! Would you all like a book bingo instead of a tag? How about a month long Bookstagram challenge, or a Bookstagram bingo?! That way you wouldn't have to post everyday. Jo and I are going to do a dog treat bake off and every vote will be an entry for a set of dog inspired cookie cutters. Tell us what you would like to see next year!
