THE BOOK THAT SURPRISED ME THE MOST
HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD
By J.K. Rowling

BOOK I PUSHED THE MOST PEOPLE TO READ.
Again this year ORLEANS by Sherri L. Smith. It is a diverse Dystopian with an MC of color by a POC author, and there is zero romance in it. It is boom in your face gritty and realistic.

STARTER
This is not exactly a series starter, but it is the "first" book in the Tiffany Aching arc of the Discworld mega-series.

MY FAVORITE QUOTE FROM A BOOK READ IN 2016
"… she thought there should be a word meaning ‘a word that sounds like the noise a thing would make if that thing made a noise even though, actually, it doesn’t, but would if it ‘did’.
Glint, for example. If light made a noise as it reflected off a distant window, it’d go ‘glint!’ And the light of tinsel, all those little glints chiming together, would make a noise like ‘glitterglitter’. ‘Gleam’ was a clean, smooth noise from a surface that intended to shine all day. And ‘glisten’ was the soft, almost greasy sound of something rich and oily." ~ WEE FREE MEN by Terry Pratchett

MY BEST DISCUSSION POST
THURSDAY THOUGHTS - PERSONALITY TESTS
It had 163 views and 24 comments. The book related discussion post stats were horrendous. What do you all want to talk about?

BEST BOOKISH FEATURE
I love my new SATURDAY EVENING CONVERSATIONS feature.

MY BEST BLOGGING MOMENT
Watching my monthly hits almost top 12,000. I was 33 views away.

MY MOST DISAPPOINTING EVENT OF 2016
I requested my first two physical ARCs from larger publishers and received neither. One of the publishers sent me another book instead, which was more popular than the one I requested. Ha ha. I don't quite know what that meant.

MOST POPULAR POST
My most popular post was a THE SUNDAY POST, which contained a tribute to my buddy Jani Lane on the fifth year anniversary of his death, with 1,002 views, but I suspect the overage was due to my music biz friends visiting and sharing. Plus, I am not going to count my blogversary and a blog hop, which had views in the high 600s, because they both had giveaways. The highest regular post was THE PLAYLIST SHUFFLE TAG with 492 views. Hmm... maybe I should turn this into a music blog, ha ha!

THE POST I WISH RECEIVED A LITTLE MORE LOVE
The SATURDAY EVENING CONVERSATIONS post about HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD. It was a spoilery discussion with fellow Potterhead Jolene from JO'S BOOK BLOG. I thought the comments would blow up because everyone had been tweeting about it. I really wanted to know people's thoughts.

MY BEST BOOKISH DISCOVERY
That there is a "collections" feature for documents on my Kindle tablet, and I can have a current ARCs list and a backlist ARCs list with both my Edelweiss and Netgalley books together, so I don't have to hop between sites to see what I have. I can also add the docs to my Kindle Library collections!
.
REACHED CHALLENGES
The only challenge I was in with a goal was the Goodreads Challenge and I hit it on the nose with 72 books.

ONE THING I HOPE TO DO BLOGGING WISE IN 2017
Post more on my children's book blog TICKLING DRAGONS, and my Middle Grade book blog PAPER DRAGONS. *This is exactly the same sentence from last year's survey. Heh heh.
