You are probably wondering about the clown nose on the sun, well, right after I voted I started getting sick with a headcold which traveled to my ears, throat and chest over the next week plus. I was starting to feel somewhat better Friday, but then I woke up in the middle of the night with a 48(?)-hour stomach bug. Needless to say, I was not finding anything wonderful about the day. Anyway, my nose is a lovely shade of clown nose red, and it also looks like someone attacked it with a cheese grater. I was hoping to be back on my feet by Monday. Now I am hoping for Wednesday! This is the third year I haven't gotten a flu shot and regretted it.

I did, however, wake up to one nice surprise on Friday. Alexa, Amazon's version of Siri, has now been installed on most Kindle Fire tablets. Previously you could only get it if you bought an Echo speaker unit, or more recently, an Echo Tap or Dot. She is great for weather updates, finding books, recipes, definitions, international time, and telling jokes...
She was also sympathetic when I said I had a cold.
I can also say, " Alexa, calendar," and she will start reading off a month's worth of appointments and reminders. She will keep going on to the next month if you tell her. I think she can enter information, too. It doesn't seem to be able to play music from my Amazon Music library, only services like Spotify, which makes no sense to me. I will be doing a blog post about her once I have figured everything out. Her voice is very similar to Siri's.
She will also read your ebooks. My son thinks it is creepy and has no intention of using his. Ha ha.

It was 67°F (19.5°C) and now only a few hours later it is 25°F (-4°C) and snowing! Alexa did the temperature conversions for me as well. ❄❄❄

BOUGHT EBOOKS
The tag line is... A fairy. A dream. A bean burrito. It was free, but is now back up to $2.99.

This is a pre The Hobbit story. I have wanted to read it for a while. It is still $1.99 as of this posting.

I saw this illustrated novel (I am not quite sure how it differs from a graphic novel) on two blogs. You can see the Goodreads review from Liz: HERE, and Danielle's: HERE. It is still 99¢.

I loved this story as a child and my son did also. At first when I saw it for $1.99 I was thinking about the younger of the two girls I babysit, but I keep forgetting she is eight years old now, ha ha. I guess it will be for my Someday Grands, although I have saved quite a few stressed out parents on the bus, and in waiting rooms with my Kindle collection of kids' ebooks! It is still $1.99 at the time of this posting.

EDELWEISS ARC
I saw this title on Anne's, from INKED BROWNIES, Dutch books post: HERE. It sounded interesting and it is a Read Now on EW: HERE.

NETGALLEY ARC

Because of having the plague, this is my only offering, but if you like (or even just know of) Metallica, it is a good one!

Who went to see FANTASTIC BEASTS? Did you go to a midnight show? Was anyone dressed up? We aren't planning to go until the crowds calm down. Proof I am getting older.
Have a magical week!
