TELL ME TUESDAY #65

TELL ME TUESDAY is a feature that oozed from my post Twitter party fried brains. It is a floating feature (depending on your reading style), where you tell us what you are reading now, and why, and what you will be reading in the future from your tbr pile, and why. I am oh so curious why people read what they read. So tell me!

Joining me this week...
Shannon from REX ROBOT REVIEWS
Go have a peek at their new grabs and tell them yours.

I just finished listening to my audiobook of
THE MARTIAN.
IT WAS FABULOUS!
When I went to read two of my Edelweiss books, that pubbed on October 6th, I had a little problem. They were nowhere to be found on my Kindle. N-O-W-H-E-R-E. After scratching my head and looking at other books I clicked download for on September15th, I realized they were ALL MISSING! I could still re-download all of the others, but AN INHERITANCE OF ASHES (which was one of my most anticipated books this year), and A TALE OF HIGHLY UNUSUAL MAGIC had archived. I contacted Amazon Kindle and they said pretty much what I thought they would say... that it was Edelweiss's problem. I contacted Edelweiss and have not heard anything from them yet, but I am sure they are going to say it is Kindle's fault (which I think it is because everything else I did on EW on that day finalized). So, I was forced to write my very first physical copy request. I emailed the publisher of AN INHERITANCE OF ASHES about what happened, told them that it was one of my most anticipated novels this year, and gave them all my stats. I said I hoped they might have a spare ARC lying around. That was a week ago and I haven't heard anything yet, but hey, I now am confident to request ARCS from other publishers.

Next audiobook, DRACULA.

Next eARC, SLADE HOUSE.

I guess it is...
SCARY!

Are you reading anything scary? Tell me!

  1. Ugh! That's gotta be so frustrating! I've never had that happen to me... what has happened to me is forgetting to download an ARC and remember about it once the time to download has passed... that irks me quite a lot too!

    1. I usually download them the day I get them. I had a bunch that approved that day. I think I "downloaded" seven, or so. Now I know to check and make sure that I have a confirmation email for each book. :)

  2. So sorry your e-ARCs disappeared. That's got to be frustrating. Yay for finding the confidence to speak up to publishers, though.

  3. Aw, that really sucks. I hope you get the ARC from the publisher though!! *fingers crossed for you* I got approved for a book I reeeeally wanted to read, but they gave it in this totally coded file and I COULDN'T BREAK THE CODE. *cries* Netgalley hates me. haha. XD

    1. Netgalley hates me, too. Hehe. A lot of people say that if you have luck on Edelweiss, Netgally hates you and vice versa. I think I would rather be smiled upon by Edelweiss anyway. :)

  4. That's got to be frustrating! Hopefully they can help sort it out! I'm not reading anything scary, I'm such a baby when it comes to horror books or anything creepy, I want to try to get into Stephen Kings books but I doubt I'll have time this month.

    1. Omg, if you don't like scary make sure you don't read It, by Stephen King! That book even scared my ex. Ha ha. :)

  5. Awww, I'm sorry that you had to undergo that, Lala! Edelweiss and Amazon Kindle can be a pain sometimes >.> Weirdly, I got AN INHERITANCE OF ASHES from Netgalley but even that was missing in my Digital Edition files when I'm sure I was able to download it :o So weird how that happened to both of us XDD

    1. That is weird! I now know to check and make sure I have a Kindle document download email for every book. I was just going through and deleting them all in one fell swoop. What is weird is I swear I had Slade House, from Netgally, on my Kindle carousel at one point, but when I went to read it, it wasn't even in my cloud! I had to download it.

  6. That is a pain they went missing, I don't use Edelweiss as I prefer the layout of Netgalley, hopefully you will get a copy from the publisher. Sometimes you hear nothing back from them and then the post arrives and they have sent you the book! Fingers crossed!

I'm not reading anything scary, I am reading Illuminae just now and loving it, it is really hyped and totally deserved of it!

    1. Illuminae! That was another eARC I got and couldn't read because it wasn't loadable to Kindle and when I finally did decide to try and read it on my laptop it wouldn't download to Adobe, either. Everyone is saying how beautiful the formatting is, so I might buy it in hardcover anyway. :(

  7. Oh nooooooooooo. I download everything to my laptop and then side load to Nook, so that I don't lose them. I would have cried. Hope it all gets sorted and YES The Martian rocked on audio.

    1. I love audiobooks now. I am kind of embarrassed that it took me so long to try them out. My sister had been bugging me about them for a few years. Ha ha.
