THE SUNDAY POST is a weekly feature hosted by Kimba at the Caffinated Book Reviewer. It is a chance to recap the previous week, share news, showcase books and/or bookish things we have received, and tell about what is coming up on our blog in the next week. You can view the guidelines, HERE.
THIS LAST WEEK
MONDAY
TUESDAY
WEDNESDAY
THURSDAY
FRIDAY
SATURDAY
This was me at work and at home. Ha ha! Scattered and therefore unproductive. The Blogger html problems didn't help either.
There is a new blog font though. Do you like it?
I have been semi bad at returning comments and will be remedying that this next week. I started yesterday as a matter of fact. That is why my monthly Stacking the Shelves didn't get finished.
My Wednesday's WEIRD WORD was...
Which was funny because that was me all week. Everything was irritating me.
Aimee from THE SOCIAL POTATO is doing a series of posts titled The Bookish Community Survival Guide. Part one was Sharing Your Thoughts and she made this fab graphic to go along with it.
I am looking forward to Part two.
Please, please, please read this Tumblr post, tumbled by author Lori M. Lee, HOW I DISCOVERED I'M WHITE. It is about white privilege in the United States, and it says every thing I wanted to say to the "friends" on Facebook who had a problem with me posting Black Lives Matter, and who in passive aggressive answer to my BLM posts started posting memes with illogical analogies, and even articles that called people who support Black Lives Matter terrorists! I guess I am a terrorist. It has motivated me to do a post about my Facebook experience on my personal blog, and stand up for my beliefs on Facebook (I will let you know how that goes). Anyway, you can read this truly wonderful Tumblr post. HERE.
When I realized I had never read A Christmas Carol by Dickens I thought, hmm... I can use that for Kimba's Ho-Ho-Ho Read-a-Thon! I went to my Kindle and sure enough, there was a FREE Classics ebook. And guess what? The added narration is only 99 cents!
I SEE IN THE FUTURE
This week will be the same old same old. I am not going to promise a blogversary post because I want it to be perfect (which hasn't been easy with all my Blogger problems) and make sure I thank everyone. It is my birthday on Tuesday and I will be doing a small $10 Amazon giftcard giveaway to tide everyone over until the blogversary contest.
I will be doing a guest post review of ORLEANS on READ. SLEEP. REPEAT. for Diversity Month. It will have a giveaway for the book. I have also been asked to do a guest post on 21st CENTURY ONCE UPON A TIMES. And of course there will be all the witchiness on my Children's book blog.
Have a wickedly wonderful week!
Thank you for sharing that post from Lori's Tumblr, it is fantastic and so on point, we SO NEED to remember that!
ReplyDeleteI hope next week with be better and you will be feeling less jaculiferous! ;)
It is now Monday morning and I do feel better! :)
DeleteHappy birthday!! Hope your week is fabulous. I liked your post on the writing questions- what a great idea. WAs not familiar with that, but it already got me thinking. Great way to flesh out characters.
ReplyDeleteI like the blog changes.
Yes, I love reading people's question answers, it is almost like reading the story. You should join us. :)
DeleteI love your scattered gif LOL I hope you have a better week. I need ideas for the Ho ho ho a thin help , I just have one but I want at least 3.

Everybody has a birthday this week, that is just amazing! Hope you have a good one. Yes to the font, it looks good!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Thanks, I stole the font idea from A. Lynden Rolland's page. I don't know why I never knew it was a Blogger available font. It looks not as pretty on the design page I guess. :)
DeleteYour gifs are perfection! The Monday one basically describes my entire week. Unmotivated was my word I think. The Bookish Survival Guide is awesome and right on the money! Have a great week and happy birthday!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I might as well have been unmotivated, too. I was so all over the place in my brain that just as much nothing got done as if I had been. Hehe. :)
DeleteI liked the survival guide. Bloggers and people on any social media need to remember that while we have the right to free speech it doesn't mean we an obligation.
ReplyDeleteSome bloggers on Twitter can get vicious. I stay out of discussions now, which kind of cancels out the whole idea of Twitter, in a way. Some bloggers even ask questions to bait people into arguments.
DeleteI made my font size larger too. Yes I liked yours. I saw on Blogeista bigger is better and as I age..I appreciate the larger font!! Love your Friday pic..I have had weeks like that!
ReplyDeleteYes at 58 (for one more day) my eyes are not made for hipster tiny font. I didn't know that was a thing until a younger blogger told me. Ha!
DeleteWow, what a busy and exciting time coming up with your birthday AND blogversary!
ReplyDeleteThe font on my blog is pretty big and I don't mind it but I keep meaning to check it on mobile devices and make sure it isn't TOO big (so takes too much scrolling to get through!)
Well I would rather read too big than not to be able to read the small print at all. When I get my new Kindle Fire, and can have one charging while using the other, I will be on the tablets exvlusivly, so there are a couple of blogs I won't be reading any longer. Thank goodness they are not ones I frequent much. :)
