THE SUNDAY POST is a weekly feature hosted by Kimba at the Caffinated Book Reviewer. It is a chance to recap the previous week, share news, showcase books and/or bookish things we have received, and tell about what is coming up on our blog in the next week. You can view the guidelines, HERE.
Talking about breaking my reading slump and my next ARC.
This week's TOP TEN TUESDAY'S prompt (which I follow for TTF) was MOST READ AUTHORS. I had so many ties, and all of my voraciously read top authors were ancient Children's and Middle Grade, so I split it into three categories; Now/Then/Way Back When. To be totally fair to all I ended up with sixteen top authors and three honorable mentions. Every week this feature seems to remind me of a series I have forgotten to finish, books I IN REAL LIFE
I finally got a cellphone. Ha ha! Welcome to the 21st century, La La! It is just a basic phone, and I have the lowest priced plan, unlimited text and 300 minutes a month with rollover. This should be more than sufficient because I kept our landline digital service (it is only $9 a month from our cable company) and don't plan on using the cell at home.
My son got a job working for a seasonal pop-up Halloween store. He has been doing set up, building temporary walls, and assembling shelves and peg boards. Next week they will start moving merchandise from a storage building. When the store opens he has been guaranteed a salesclerk position, so he has work until the third week in November. In the meantime he is going to apply for seasonal Christmas positions at the mall and our big department store downtown, while waiting for his "real' job offers to come through.
I have been craving pizza, and I finally had some on Thursday, yum!

THE SUNDAY POST
It will be the last five days to enter my diversity GIVEAWAY. The author of Orleans has thrown in a signed bookplate for the book! Don't forget there is other assorted swag, too.
Have a magical week.
I could eat pizza every day. Well maybe not every day- but often! Congrats on the cellphone, I'm not much of a tech early adopter eithe LOL!
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous week!
I could eat pizza everyday, too. There are so many different kinds now. Cellphones seemed to be such a waste of money for me, but with the low price of the digital phone, I figured we could swing it now that Sebastian is working. When he goes back to school next year, I might get rid if it, we shall see. :)
Deletemmmmmm ... pizza Little Golden Books are the very first books I ever remember reading :) Have a great week! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks, you too!
DeleteYAY for Halloween stores! I just love Halloween so a seasonal Halloween store sounds awesome to me!
ReplyDeleteAnd indeed welcome to the 21st century Linda! ;) Cell phones can be very convenient for keeping in touch with people!
As always, I adoooore the Pusheen GIFs!!
I told him to ask if he gets his employee discount on the after holiday sale. Ha ha!
DeleteI'm not a huge pizza fan, but I'm celiac so that's a bit more complicated anyway.
ReplyDeleteYay for the cell phone... you might find you get addicted! ;-)
I have a recipe for quinoa pizza crust. I haven't tried it yet, but I will let you know how it goes when I do. When they thought that might be what my son had (he ended up having Crohns), I had good results with rice flour for a few things. I never tried pizza crust with it though.
DeleteI love pizza and the local places have had GF crusts for a while now. Unfortunately, I just had a bad customer service experience with my favorite. I only eat a treat once a week so the bad experience really ticked me off.
ReplyDeleteWE keep our land line too - it is part of our cable packages. And, it is great that your son is getting these jobs. Retail was my favorite job type and I always had the best experiences there.
I was going to say it is his first physcally taxing job, but I forgot he was a docent at our zoo for two years. He planted and weeded flower beds, painted and repaired fences, and cleaned up a lot of poop! Doing retail selling the Halloween items should he fun though.

DeleteThe one good thing I can think of about summer coming closer to the end is Halloween. Your son should have fun with his new job. And give me some of that pizza! I plan of having some tonight. That and tacos are my required foods if I ever get trapped on a deserted island. LOL

Halloween and Pizza...two of my favorite things! lol Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a huge pizza fan but then sometimes that's all I want to eat. It's weird how that works! I'm glad you finally got some pizza! I messed up my schedule with blog tours and then a crazy week so I missed the Top Ten Tuesday. I can tell you that my most read author would definitely have been Agatha Christie. I'm still catching up on blog posts so I look forward to seeing yours! Have a great week and good luck to your son with his new job!
ReplyDeleteI have to begin the mood for pizza but when I crave it I will knock you down for it LOL Good luck to your son on his new job and finding more work.

Pizza...yum. We ditched our landline about 4 years ago and don't miss it. We ended up getting smartphones 3 years ago since I wanted to be connected 24-7..they are addicting.
ReplyDeleteFirst, I want to say hello! I found your blog today. :)
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the cell phone world! My parents finally got cellphones a couple of years ago because they are never home and wouldn't return calls left on the home phone for close to a week (or more!) later.
I also do TTT, and I am constantly reminded of reviews I need to write for books I read pre-blogging (which may or may not also require re-reading) -- at least for the books I own. I have also been crazing pizza lately!
I don't miss my landline, but I do miss the time before I was constantly checking my phone for everything...And I'm glad you got some pizza! If I had known you were craving it I would have sent you all the pizza people have made me eat these past 2 weeks. I normally love it, but there is just way too much going around right now.
ReplyDeletePizza day is Friday in my house! Stuffed crust pepperoni thank you very much!!!
ReplyDeleteI am so dependent on my phone, it is terrible!! Enjoy yours!
