TELL ME TUESDAY is a floating feature, depending on your reading style, where you tell us what you read last, what you are reading now, what you will be reading next from your tbr pile, and why. I am curious why people read what they read, so tell me!

MEMOIR
JAMAICA
Published 2007 - Own Kindle Library
This is my first #CaribAThon book. I loved and adored it! It was brimming with Jamaican history, culture, and folklore. It also explored the organic nature of women and motherhood. Goodison has been added to my list of favorite authors. I did have a Goodreads review up, but it disappeared. I will get a new one up as soon as possible.

CARIBBEAN HISTORY
Published 1996 - Hoopla Borrow
This was my second #CaribAThon book. I didn't like it nearly as much as From Harvey River, but it was purely for personal taste reasons. This book was still well written and intensely insightful. There is quite a bit of sex in the story which was not my cup of tea, but I did like that it showed women can have sex drives and should express themselves on their own terms.

Yes, I am still chugging along with this re-read. The audio on the Hoopla borrow is very low and I can't hear it even with my fan set on low, and it's been HOT! It's cooler tonight, so I might be able to get a good chunk listened to later. I want to get it re-read before I draft my post about gentle anti-racism reads.
