TELL ME TUESDAY is a floating feature depending on your reading style, where you tell us what you read last, what you are reading now, what you will be reading in the future from your tbr pile, and why. I am oh so curious why people read what they read. So tell me!

What are you reading? Tell me!
I love how varied your TBR always is! XD IT'S AWESOME. And Down With the Shine was that awful?! AGHH. I'm glad I never requested a copy then. hehe.
ReplyDeleteI'm currently reading The Square Root of Summer which is...very math-ish? I'm SO BAD at maths so I'm kind of unenthused. Eeek.
A YA book about math, ha ha. Well, that is truly fresh! Down With the Shine was a DOWNER. I think the good reviews were because for some reason a lot of younger readers will love anything that is loaded with obscenities, even if it is just for obscenities sake. It was all over the place and ended up nowhere. You did not miss anything. :)
DeleteHuh, that's good to know about Down with the Shine. I was on the verge of ordering that one. Maybe I just love the cover. :) But I'll be a little more careful about it now.
ReplyDeleteHappy Tuesday. :)
It read like a 15 year old boy obsessed with balls and obscenities wrote it. Heh heh. :P
DeleteI really liked Down with the Shine's cover...until it hit me that it was moonshine, and it lost me. I have a love/hate relationship with cursing in YA, it either works naturally or it doesn't. I cuss a lot...probably more than average, so I'm slightly critical of it because I like my curse words treated with respect. :P
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this week!
I am not against swearing in YA, but every third word is ridiculous. And... If they are used flippantly they lose their impact for when you really want to let someome know you are angry. Ha ha. Yes, respect the swear words!
DeleteThe Genius of Birds sounds good! I have trouble keeping focused on nonfiction (that isn't a memoir or autobiography) so that may end up on my TBR. You did really well with your challenge!
ReplyDeleteI'm still reading The Mad Ship, along with Sing the Four Quarters (which are both fantasy). I need to study for my driver's test, though- I only have a few months before I don my chauffeur hat (for better or worse...). ;)
~Litha Nelle
I won't drive anymore. It makes me too nervous. I luxury not too many people fight you about when you get my age, thank goodness. Good luck on your test. I am sure you will do fine. The Genious Of Birds was good because the text was really conversational. I liked that. :)
DeleteWay to go for #ARCApril! You seem to be a lot like me...reading books from all over the place. No particular genre or age group. :)
ReplyDeleteYes! I love to graze on Netgalley and Edelweiss. Ha ha. I am happy to have company. :)
DeleteSo much to look at your list! Congrats on a great month of reading! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! :)
