BEYOND THE BOOKS is a weekly meme where KissinBlueKaren throws out a topic (mostly non-bookish) and we blog about it.
Most of my "me time" is taken up with blogging and reading review books. But here are a few other things I like to squeeze in...
1. Crocheting. I am mediocre at best, but it is relaxing and I know how to do a few fancy stitches that make quick work of pretty scarves. People who know me in real life think this is on the funny side because I am not the needlework type. Which reminds me, I also embroider. Ha! I listen to audiobooks while doing projects.
2. Playing guitar. It used to be part of my profession, now it is an avocation.
3. Words With (mostly strangers) Friends. My son calls it Words With Strangers, but I do play with four people I know IRL out of about 15 regular players. If you play my WWF username is Nerda Irk. Challenge me.
4. Write. I am currently editing stories about a nine year old American witch named Saffron Browne for serialization on Wattpad. I originally wrote them for my son, starting about 15 years ago, to keep him happy in between Harry Potter books.
5. Friday night martinis. Sometimes with friends; sometimes with my cat.
