THE SUNDAY POST #42

THE SUNDAY POST is a weekly wrap-up feature hosted by Kimba at the Caffinated Book Reviewer
It is a chance to recap the previous week, share news, showcase books and/or bookish things we have received, and tell about what is coming up on our blog in the next week. You can view the guidelines, HERE.

I tell you what I finished reading and what I had on deck. Which totally changed when I finally did my 2016 ARC schedule! Thank goodness the ARC that released that very day was a DNF and I didn't get behind. Hehe.

I also kept true to my New Years resolution and did my second TTT of the year on the Middle Grade blog, PAPER DRAGONS. You can see what 2015 MG releases I still want to get to this year: HERE.

THURSDAY
I posted a SEVERUS SNAPE image and gif tribute to mark the passing of beloved actor, ALAN RICKMAN, on my Middle Grade blog. You can view that: HERE.

The top five 2015 releases I am still determined to read.

Eileen from BOOK CAT PIN and Jess from READING NOOK REVIEWS have gotten me hooked on the Neko Atsume (cat collector) game...
Playing is stress relieving for me. I am saving up the gold sardines the cats leave me as thank-you gifts for the deck and house expansion packs! I also play Words With Friends; if you play and want to challenge me my username is Nerda Irk. I have a digital pet Pou (poop), too. Ha ha. His name is Doodah Doodles. I will show you some shots of him next week.

TELL ME TUESDAY

WHATCHA THINKIN' BOUT WEDNESDAY: Cait from PAPER FURY suggested I do a post on naming book characters, seeing that I love it so much and she doesn't.

THURSDAY TAG: I am doing another of the LL (not me) & A's monthly tags.

TOP FIVE FRIDAY

THE SUNDAY POST

I will also be posting my review of THE NIGHT PARADE on my MG blog at some point.

ALSO
A lot of people were posting about DAVID BOWIE'S 100 books you must read list last week.

I am going to do a post about it and pledge to read all the books on the list that I have not read already. I am not going to put a time stamp on this reading adventure, but I would like to clear the list in two years or less. You can see the list: HERE.

Have a beautiful week!

  1. I don't know how you maintain so many blogs running! I only have the one and it's still a bit too much at times!!

    1. This having all three up and running is a new thing. The MG blog was all but dead last year and the Children's blog is basically just Kaylee and Shannon's Kookies and Milk reviews. If I posted every day to the blog I would not be able to do it. Plus in the winter I usually only venture out to get my work packet from my boss once a week, and and to grocery shop twice a month. No getting dressed up and no commute time = blogging. :)

  2. I'm definitely in awe with you since you're able to maintain so many blogs. Tell me your secret? LOL!!
I still can't believe Alan Rickman is gone. So sad.
    Have a good week ;)

    1. It was such a shock. I don't think it has totally sunk in yet either. The three blogs up and running is a new thing. The MG and Children's blogs were all but dormant last year, so we shall see what happens. :)

  3. I love the look of that cat game! And I don't think I've ever been to your MG blog- gonna rectify that right now.

    Hope your week is fantastic!

    1. The game is so much fun and relaxing. It is much better than collecting cats in real life. Ha ha. I haven't been doing much with the MG blog, but I read a lot of Middle Grade last year and have a lot on deck this year, so I thought I would resurrect it. :)

  4. That cat game looks fun. I toyed with the idea of a second blog for childrens' books but I'm so strapped for time now, I've put that on the back burner for the time being.

    1. I have a five year old book reviewer. She is the daughter of another blogger, so that helps a lot and I only post when I have several picture books to put in one review post, so it is easier than it sounds. :)

  5. I've never participated in the Top Ten or Top Five linkups. I must suss them out as I don't even know if the topics are set or you just write about anything....

    1. TTT is a feature so they give you a topic. Very once in a while it is a freebie, though. :)

  6. Thanks for posting David Bowie's Top 100 books to read list. Very interesting. I've read several of them, and I always like seeing what other people read.

    1. I had seen it before a while ago, but didn't remember what was on it. It was quite eclectic. :)

  7. Eeeep, I'm looking forward to the naming post. Are you going to share secrets? PLEASE SHARE TIPS AND SECRETS. I have been stuck on naming some characters for aaaages. Omg, I have like 99% of the plot and no names. NO NAMES. It's killing me. Titling is just as bad. Bleh. :|

That is cool that you're challenging yourself with the David Bowie list! :D
