TOP FIVE FRIDAY #14

TFF is based on TOP TEN TUESDAY by The Broke and the Bookish. I always frown in a defeated manner when trying to come up with ten answers for TTT, so...

I had gotten so used to not posting a TFF that I almost forgot to uphold my New Years blogging resolution of doing one weekly. If you are interested, I did keep my promise to post a weekly TTT on my MG blog. You can see what Middle Grade books I still want to read from last year: HERE.

TOP FIVE 2015 RELEASES STILL TO READ

I love Leigh's writing, but I wanted to get RUIN AND RISING read first. I have a beautiful hardcover of R&R, but I was spoiled with THE spoiler the day it released and it killed all my excitement for it.

It just sounds interesting.

I adored this author's other YA standalone, ABOVE, so I requested the ARC for An Inheritance of Ashes on Edelweiss. I was approved for the eARC, but when I went to start reading it on the day it published, I found that it never completed the download to my Kindle, and was at that point archived. I emailed the publisher with all my stats and told them what happened, but I never heard back from them. I will probably end up borrowing it from the library if the ebook doesn't go on sale soon.

The synopsis makes it sound brilliant and tons of bloggers have recommended it.

Everyone I know has raved about this book.

Do you have a book to suggest?

  1. The Rest of Us Just Lives Here was super fun and had a great balance of humour & serious issues.
I adore Six of Crows so I highly recommend it! You can read it even if you haven't read the Grisha trilogy!

    1. Yeah, I'm just weird about finishing a series set in a world before I start a new one. I still haven't completed a Ness book yet. I started reading A Monster Calls and forgot to pick it up again. I have a physical copy and that happens when they aren't in my face in my Kindle carrousel! :)

  2. I've heard great things about Six of Crows and Patrick Ness in general. He's definitely one I want to read. There were so many 2015 books I didn't get to in 2015 - and 2014 books, and 2013 books...

    1. Ness has been someone I have wanted to read for a long time. I started A Monster Calks and forgot about it because it got put back on the bookshelf when I was tidying up for Christmas. :)

  3. The Rest of Us Just Live Here is high on my list to read as well!
