TAG You're It! The January LL & A

I am doing LL (not me) and A's monthly tag. You can find it on Library Luv's (the LL) blog BEYOND THE BOOK REVIEWS. Also, keep your eye out every month for a new edition!

1. The book I am dying to read, but doesn't come out for a while is...
THE RAVEN KING
I read the first title in the series for a guest review, and I had the next two on my shelves ready to be read, but my fear of cliffhangers has made me wait so I can re-read the first story, and binge read the rest after this series ender is published April 26th, 2016.

2. A book that has been on my TBR for a year or more...
DANCE OF THE RED DEATH
I read the first book in this duology, MASQUE OF THE RED DEATH, in June 2012, before I started blogging. I loved the first story so much, I bought them both in hardcover. I have had this book on my shelves for almost a year now.

3. The genre I want to start reading more of is...
SCIENCE FICTION
SciFi has been near and dear to my heart since I read A WRINKLE IN TIME in fourth grade. I have had less and less of it in my TBR over the last couple of years and I need to remedy this.

4. If I could interview one author this year, it would be...
M.R. GRAHAM
This young author writes some of the best Adult Paranormal books around. She ties with Anne Rice on my extremely short list of vampire story authors I love. In fact, they are the only two authors on that list! Sorry Bram Stoker. I adore Lenny, her stuttering, electric blanket loving vampire MC in the BOOKS OF LOST KNOWLEDGE series.

5. A yet unreleased sequel I am looking forward to in 2016 is...
BROKEN CROWNS
It is the third book in the INTERNMENT CHRONICLES by Lauren Destefano. I was thrilled with the first book, but I had issues with the second. I am hoping this third installment makes me fall in love with the story again. It publishes on March 22nd.

6. Two 2016 debut authors whom I am excited to read, and also am lucky to have ARCs of, are...
BONNIE-SUE HITCHCOCK
Young Adult Historical Fiction
♦♦♦
LINDSAY EAGAR
Middle Grade Magical Realism

7. An ARC I would commit a felony for in 2016 would be...
THE FATE OF THE TEARLING
The first book in this trilogy, QUEEN OF THE TEARLING, was my top book of 2014, but the second installment, INVASION OF THE TEARLING, had a dystopic backstory mixed in with the fantasy and I did not like this. I am hoping the dystopian storyline ends in the beginning of this book and it turns back to pure High Fantasy.

8. My favorite gift received over the holidays was...
THE SORCERER'S STONE ILLUSTRATED
I received it from my son for Christmas.

9. A recently discovered character I adore is...
 SAKI YAMAMOTO
She is a thirteen year old Japanese girl.

10. My first read of 2016 was...
UNTAMED
A novella collection for the SPLINTERED SERIES.
CONSIDER YOURSELF TAGGED!

  1. I love this tag! I'm saving it to use later. You convinced me to add Night Garden to my TBR and I just discovered my library has it (or at least has ordered it) so I'm excited about that. The Splintered series has been calling my name lately as well. It doesn't hurt that the covers are beautifully spooky.

    1. I kept putting off reading Splintered after it was first tecommended to me. I was in the library and I saw the cover in a display and tnrn reakized what book it was and read it. A.G. certainly lucked out with getting fabulous cover art for a first time author, that is for sure. I am so.hapoy yoir library us getting The Night Parade. I hrt so frustrated when great books never make it that far. :)
