THE SNIDGET - Harry Potter & Magical News Bulletin - November 2019 Edition

MAGICAL NEWS BULLETIN
NOVEMBER 2019 EDITION

THE SNIDGET is a periodical bulletin from the magical world.
There will be plenty of news about Hogwarts and the wizarding world, and other fantastical places. It will be dropped off in the library by Owl Post every second Saturday of the month.

These are the personalized journals which come with the new WIZARDING WORLD FAN CLUB GOLD MEMBERSHIP. You receive your house book and a pin as soon as you sign up. The annual membership fee is $75. I can't decide if it is worth it for me because the rest of the perks involve the app, which isn't supported by my Kindle, and being able to visit the parks and/or studio tour.

This is the pin.

I was over the moon excited about these other beautiful exclusive pins, but other than the one which comes with the personalized journal upon membership, you need to go to the parks or the studio tour to pick them up, and they are being cagey about whether this means multiple visits, getting each one individually, because it sure does sound like it. And again, all of it is feeding into this new HP fandom atmosphere where instead of the biggest fans being seen as the knowledgeable book lovers, now it's how much Harry Potter merch you have that signals your love for Harry Potter, and so many of them haven't even read the books. Warner Brothers has really killed the warm community feel to the fandom through over commercialization.

.

If you want a peek into those stunning personal journals I have leaf-through videos from both The Potter Collector and Kwikspellco posted down in the book section.

Here is the lovely Insight Editions Hogwarts Holiday pop-up advent calendar. It's reusable, so it can become a fun holiday tradition. The one Demi is showcasing was from Hot Topic for $42, but Amazon has it for $24: HERE.

.

It doesn't have little gifts like the Funko or Lego advent calendars, but if this was for a child you could wrap little presents, which corresponded with the images on the ornaments being hung on the tree, to open up each day and that would be fun. Do you have any advent calendars for your holidays?

Like I said above, I'm still on the fence about this because so many of the fan club perks are park and studio related, but my oh my, this personalized book is gorgeous. Do you think it's worth the price of the Wizarding World Gold membership if that's the only perk a member can use?

Have a magical month, my friends!
