TELL ME TUESDAY #74

TELL ME TUESDAY is a feature that oozed from my post Twitter party fried brains. It is a floating feature (depending on your reading style), where you tell us what you are reading now, and why, and what you will be reading in the future from your tbr pile, and why. I am oh so curious why people read what they read. So tell me!

Right now I am smack-dab in the middle of MORE HAPPY THAN NOT. The middle of the story is sagging a bit, but otherwise I am enjoying it. It is realistic and gritty. It's the second book towards my COYER challenge which started on the 19th and runs until March.
I have also started UNWIND, but have only gotten in about 10% because I wanted to get SIMON VS. THE HOMO SAPIENS AGENDA, MORE HAPPY THAN NOT, and ILLUMINAE read before I do my End of Year Survey post.

I added another challenge to my rouster. You can read the details and the books I am planning to re-read: HERE.
This is my COYER challenge post: HERE.
I have yet to finish my post for this challenge because there are sooooooooooo many books to link, but if you want to check out the challenge link-up page, you can view that: HERE.
What are you reading? Tell me!
Are you taking on any challenges next year?

  1. YAY for challenges! SO far I've got myself signed up for 4, and I hope I'm not biting more than I can chew again! ;)

I'm still in the fence about reading More Happy Than Not, we'll see after your review! I hope you get to read and love Illuminae and Simon, because I DO ADORE those two!

    1. I did get Simon read and I absolutely loved the last 50 percent of the book. The beginning was a little draggy for me, but it doesn't seem to have bothered younger readers, so that's a point in its favor. I think every teenager should read it. I am done adding challenges because these three fit perfectly and COYER ends right before RSR's ARC April challenge. :)

    1. MHTN is one of those books that YA refers are either going to love or hate because it is not going to appeal to the "all YA needs swooney romance elements" crowd at all, but it is overflowing with stark, grungy realism for the "I love it gritty" readers. And yes, Simon was a great story. :)

  3. Ooh, I really want to read More Happy Than Not, so I'm glad you're enjoying it! :D SIMON'S IS ADORABLE AND WONDERFUL. I'm currently reading This is Where The World Ends by Amy Zhang. It's...not too bad? But I've yet to be convinced, I guess, heehe.

    1. So many books lately have been lucky they were review books because I try a little harder not to DNF. There have been some that get really wonderful after 50%, but jeesh, If I were reading it as a me book I would have tossed it aside by then. :)

  4. Love the challenges. I'm debating whether to sign up for any this year. I'll probably do Series Ender since I have good luck winning the giveaways, but since I am no longer commuting to work my reading had dropped off the face of the planet. My challenge for next year should probably just be: READ. LOL

    1. I know! That's why I picked challenges that give a lot of room for mood reading because when time is limited it is nice to be reading something you want to read, and not have to read! :)

  5. I will be so interested to see what you think of More Hsppy Than Not! It's definitely a bit slow, but trust me the last bit at the end is a complete surprise (and I'm not certain you'll love it? I guess it's not that I loved it, but it certainly packed a punch to the guy for me). And I had to return Simon to the library before I got a chance to read it :(

    1. I finished More Happy Than Not, and yes, the ending is a punch to the gut! I think the ending was perfect because it drives home all the "messages" the story was relaying. I really did love it. :)
