Have you ever logged on to Edelweiss or Netgalley with the intention of "Just Looking" and then logged off having requested 5 new titles even though your TBR is a mile long? This challenge will (hopefully) give you the incentive to tackle your review books, stumble upon new ones, and get your Netgalley percentage to the desired 80%! I started getting most everything I requested on Edelweiss about a year ago and I now have auto-approval from from a graphic novel publisher, so thank goodness EW doesn't have ratios like Netgalley! I was at 98% on Netgalley up until a few days ago when I requested seven titles, thinking I would get maybe one (or none) because NetG and I don't usually play well together, but I got six of them and one is still pending, so my percentage went down to 94%. There are, however, many more books I want to request, so this challenge will keep my head above water.

There are five goal levels in this challenge. I opted for SILVER which is 50 books. I am concentrating on getting books I have wanted to read for myself and re-reads done in 2016, so a little less than one ARC a week seems achievable.

ReplyDeleteThank-you. I wish I had know about this last year because my Netgalley percents were in the 60s at one point from all the Read Nows I downloaded! I hope you join because it looks to be a very motivating challenge. :)
DeleteMy ratio on NG is at 79% right now, and I'm hoping I can get it closer to 90% and finally get it to stick over 80% consistently!
ReplyDeleteI did a marathon of Netgalley reads last year and got mine up to a littke over 80% and then I read a bunch of Children's books and got it up into the 90s. I have kept it up there ever since. :)
