It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog. This is your news post, so personalize it! Include as much as you want or as little. Be creative, it can be a vlog or just a showcase of your goodies. Link up once a week or once a month, you decide. Book haul can include library books, yard sale finds, arcs and bought books..share them!
Why the SUNDAY POST? Well, it is laid back just like the feature I co-host with Brittersweet from PLEASE FEED the BOOKWORM.
THIS PAST WEEK
From Christmas Eve until New Years Eve things were crazy around my house. The internet tanked on Christmas Eve when I was going to put the final touches and Rafflecopter on my Holiday from the Heart post. Then Christmas Day I became ill. It was only a 48 hour bug, but it kept me from plan B, which was to post it on Boxing Day, so it became a special year-end TELL ME TUESDAY, which you can view, HERE. It has two small giveaways; one is international.
I joined Bloggers Commenting Back and linked up, HERE. You should too. There are two or three blogs that I comment on all the time and they have never once commented here. I am not saying we have to comment post for post, but when they are meaningful and/or lengthly comments, once every two or three times would be nice. And I am not talking about blogs that get 50+ comments. These are blogs that get 4 to ten may be 15 tops every once in a while. Cait at PAPER FURY gets scores of comments on her posts and she manages to stop in here just about every time I comment over there. So, I think these other bloggers should be able to manage a few. I have not been commenting on these blogs lately and I actually think they could care less because none of them have said anything on Twitter.
This made me think about the bloggers who never reply comment on their own blogs, I have a few of those I visit, too. I especially get irked when they ask a question in their post and don't acknowledge your answer. One of those bloggers has a feature that is supposed to be a conversational post and she usually only answers the first person who comments. I don't stop by that feature anymore.
NEXT WEEK
The big deal next week on my blog is the ENSNARED review, on Monday.
There were two other posts that were delayed because of the holiday interuptions (and frankly burnout from doing five days of the 2014 Top Ten blog hop), so the top secret review of my best book released in 2014 will be on Wednesday...
and also my Looking Forward in 2015 post.
UPDATE: I saw many of the Sunday Post bloggers listing book deals they found this week so here are mine (all ebooks)...

It doesn't have to be every week and you can mold it to fit your needs. I decided with these two features the only other thing I need to do on the blog is reviewing. This year it is all about simplifying because it is the only way I am going to stay organized!

NEXT WEEK
The big deal next week on my blog is the ENSNARED review, on Monday.
It releases on Tuesday. I won an ARC during the cover reveal blog tour. My Goodreads mini-review is, HERE. There will be a small giveaway with the review.
There were two other posts that were delayed because of the holiday interuptions (and frankly burnout from doing five days of the 2014 Top Ten blog hop), so the top secret review of my best book released in 2014 will be on Wednesday...

I am so happy I decided to join this feature. It was fun composing this post! See you all next week.
UPDATE: I saw many of the Sunday Post bloggers listing book deals they found this week so here are mine (all ebooks)...
1. These Broken Stars 99¢
2. The Raven Boys $1.99
3. Jackaby $1.99
4. Compulsion $1.99
5. Splintered $1.99
6. Unhinged $1.99
7. A complete set of 12 Anne of Green Gables books + 142 short stories $1.99
I love commenting and engaging. I think some just don't know what to say, but like you I tend to visit blogs that engage and answer back. My oldest loves the Splintered series so I look forward to your review. I am delighted you chose to join the Sunday Post..we have great, diverse group of peeps who join. I hope you have fun getting to know them all.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I think the feature fits my blogging style very well. I am very happy you stopped by! The Splintered books have been my heart for so long it feels strange not to be looking forward to the next one.
DeleteI definitely see what you are getting at here. Some bloggers probably just don't know what to say or don't have much time on their hands and it's totally understandable! I'm excited to read your review of Ensnared! I loved Splintered and Unhinged wasn't exactly as good for me but I still have high hopes because I know how amazing of an author Howard is :)
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely week <33
Yeah, I had some problems with Unhinged, too, but Ensnared was glorious. I think you will love it as much as Splintered, if not more. It was my favorite of the three. Well, the bloggers I have a problem with not communicating via their blogs do have the time because they are on Twitter just about 24/7 and if there are only three or four comments on your blog, it shouldn't take that much time to answer them. Thanks again for stopping by.
DeleteWelcome to the Sunday Post! We had sickness in our house too, plus traveling made the holidays hectic. It's all good now though. :) I'm curious about your best book and looking forward posts. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous weekend!
Thanks! I first saw this feature on your blog as a matter of fact. Glad all is well healthwise at your home too. Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteYAY its almost time for ENSNARED!!! I cant wait to be able to discuss!! Great post!
ReplyDeleteO.M.G., I know it has been killing me!!!!!
DeleteI hate it when some bloggers don't respond to the comments. I try to respond to all mine, even when they aren't answering a question.
ReplyDeleteI know! I feel that if 20 or less people comment, and half those are usually really short ones you can A. comment on each one on your blog, and B. visit the ones who left longer comments. And if you have readers who comment on a regular basis, a visit at least once a week should be mandatory. Thanks for stopping by for my first Sunday Post.
DeleteDID YOU SAY ENSNARED REVIEW ON MONAY?!!! *flails forever* Now I have to decide if I'm going to read it or wait because I caaaaan't handle the FEEELS. I am literally popping out of my mothy brain waiting for this book. ARK!!!! XD
ReplyDeleteMaybe I should've preordered it. o.O That would've been genius, right? *facepalm*
I agree with you about commenting back, too, btw! I actually nominate commenting back on the reason I get comments in the first place! When I started doing at the beginning of 2014, my comment section EXPLODED. I think blogging is about having a conversation! So what's the point if it's all one-sided?!!
Thank you for agreeing! You are the role model for commenting back. I have never counted your reader comments, but you have the longest comment sections I have seen!! I am honored that you make time to stop here and comment. And yeeeeeeeesssssssssss everyone needs to read Ensnared as soon as possibile because I have been fit to burst not being able to talk about it. \(◎o◎)/
DeleteThank you for the link to the Bloggers Commenting Back page -- it's such a grand idea! (I think comments are closed on the post now, though? I really wanted to leave one there, but couldn't see the link to do so! ... which is funny, considering the topic of the post :))
ReplyDeleteThey were getting a lot of spam so they closed the comments, but the link- up is still open. After I get my Wednesday posts up I am going stop back and visit some of the blogs on the link-up. Thanks for the visir. I will drop by your blog, too. :)
ReplyDeleteIt really annoys me when people don't reply to comments on their blogs, but I can understand why they'd do so. If your blog is really popular you can get like 300 comments (eg; Zoella's blog (I can't really think of any others)) and to reply to each of them might be a bit time-consuming... ^^
ReplyDeleteOoooh... I'm going to join your giveaway! :) Happy New Year!
I'm now following you! It would mean a lot if you followed me back (but don't feel like you have to!). Looking forward to more posts x Cloudy Dreams
As I was saying, I am not talking about the bloggers who get 50+ comments, although they couod answer the readers who comment in length (not many commenters do that). Thanks for stopping by! I will return the visit. :)
ReplyDeleteAaaaah, Ensnareeeeed!!! I'm so hoping that my preorder will arrive on Monday so I can read it and finally can discuss it with you and Britt!!
ReplyDeleteI always respond to the comments on my blog as I approve them, I find that it's the easiest way to keep up! And commenting back on the blogs, it's hard for me during work days, but I always try to comment back on my usual comenters and blogs I love!
You do a fabulous job stopping by on other blogs and spreading the love! I don't expect a post for post visit, but once every few times would be appreciated from the ones who never stop by. *wuzzies* O.M.G., I know, Ensnared!!!!! AnyElsewhere is INSANE!!!! And the interactions between Jeb and Morpheus are intense!
DeleteI love your graphics. Failing to comment in other places is one of those challenges bloggers all seem to face. It's so hard to keep up with other blogs when one is so busy reading and blogging on one's own blog!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by! I am happy you had the time. Hope to see you around. :)
DeleteThe Sunday Post is one of my favorite weekly features because it's so flexible. You can use it however best works for you. Sorry to hear about your internet and you getting sick. Hope all is better now! I do agree on commenting back and answering replies. I do okay at both but do want to focus some on getting better. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThanks, everyone is tip top here now. Yes, I love knowing I can slip just about anything into this feature. Thank you for dropping in, and I will be returning the favor.
DeleteWelcome to The Sunday Post. I'll be following your posts now and I try my best to comment as often as possible. I'm a chatty person and love talking about just about anything. This group is great and it's so fun to discover what everybody has been up to and all of the new books. Though my book budget and TBR pile suffers for it. LOL
ReplyDeleteI've just started the Splintered series. Aren't those covers gorgeous!
Here's my Sunday Post - http://fuonlyknew.com/2015/01/04/whats-new-on-my-bookshelf-91-and-the-sunday-post/
I love the neighborly atmosphere, too! Yes, I am sad the Splintered series is finished. We get another novella later this year, but that is it. She is working on an adult paranormal about ghosts, but that won't be out until late 2016. Thank you so much for dropping by!
DeleteOMG! Ensnared! Can't wait for your thoughts :)
ReplyDeleteWeeklyWrap@EverythingNyze
Thanks. The review was fun to write. Thank you for visiting. :)
DeleteI'm glad you joined Sunday Post! I always feel like I do a bad job commenting, but when I do comment I go crazy and comment on everything, lol. I can't wait to see what you thought of Ensnared! I need to make sure I get a copy as soon as I can!
ReplyDeleteEnsnared was my favorite of all three! Thanks for stopping by, I 'll see you around on Twitter. :)
