I came across this 127 year old historic pet cemetery on an Instagram account I follow called CREATURE CRYPTS. It's not only the oldest in the United States, it's the oldest still operating pet cemetery in the world. It contains the famous War Dog Memorial.

"Anything that anyone has ever considered a pet we have buried here,” says Martin. The majority of burials are still dogs and cats, but Hartsdale has also interred rabbits, ferrets, snakes, turtles, guinea pigs, horses, lizards, monkeys, and even humans." — Brian Martin, manager of Hartsdale Pet Cemetery.

The cemetery's nickname is Peaceable Kingdom and the Cat Band sculpture was donated by a plot-holder to symbolize the cemetery's inclusiveness.
