PLEASE BEAR WITH ME WHILE I FIGURE OUT WHY DISCUS IS PUTTING THOSE GIGANTIC UGLY AD SECTIONS ON MY BLOG. I APOLOGIZE.
Hello, my magical mavens! It's Wednesday Witch time. This is a junction between my Toadstone & Bumbershoot posts and my La La in the Library posts; with a good helping of Fantasy book topics and quiet little everyday witch things.
I haven't published a Wednesday Witch since last Witchtember. Yikes! In fact, I've only published fourteen posts in total since last September. Double yikes! However, I am ready to get back on this blogging whirly-gig regularly again, so lets jump on our brooms and see what kind of witchery we can stir up.

I finally read my review ARC of Elphie, the Wicked prequel. I liked it, but not as much as the rest of the series. It was lighter like Young Adult and not as dark and serious as the first four. It did make me want to re-read the original four, so I did!

The new cover of Wicked has some parents mistakenly buying it for their tweens thinking it's light and fluffy like the musical and movie. It's not even Young Adult. It's dark and political adult fiction with sex and some violence.
I almost went on to read the Another Day spin-off series, but I needed to get other things read. I might read it in December.

This was my first book for Witchtember. For the theme there shouldn't have been boring bits, but there were, and being Middle Grade it's important to keep the story rolling along. The biggest problem I had was there wasn't even a tiny hint about why an evil chimera was tying to kidnap the MC. I do plan on reading the rest of the series.

This was my second title read for Witchtember. It's by the author of Chocolat. The first third was good, but it was a mad boring circle in the middle third: he doesn't love you-I know-you need to get free-but I love him-he doesn't love you-I know-you need to get free-but I love him... I don't know how many times this played through. And then the last third was brilliant.

My third Witchtember read.
I'm reading this now. Last year my library's Libby inventory only had volumes 1-10, and I requested 11-13 (volume 14 is publishing in spring of next year). I thought they never purchased them so yesterday I went over to see if I could request them again, and there they were! They never notified me even though I had them tagged for it. I'm going to be reading them all this month.
with the rest of my witch themed reading from the month.

BELL, BOOK AND CANDLEEvery Witchtember I try to watch something witch themed. Last year I watched the Bewitched 60th Anniversary Special. A couple of months ago someone mentioned this movie on my Toadstone & Bumbershoot's Witchery Cookery and Magical Living Facebook page, and I realized I hadn't watched it in years and years. I will have to look around to see where I can watch it for free.
Stay magical!
