LAST. NOW. NEXT.
 NUMBER THREE HUNDRED AND FIFTY-TWO
TIDBITS

TELL ME TUESDAY is a floating feature, depending on your reading style, where you tell us what you read last, what you are reading now, what you will be reading next from your tbr pile, and why. I am curious why people read what they read, so tell me!

NOT YET RATED
ADULT FICTION
STANDALONE
FANTASY
LGBTQ
Published March 2020 - Hoopla Borrow
I read this story for Pride Month. I loved the premise and adored the characters, but I am at a loss for words about the writing because, my gawd, it was lackluster. It was like reading a beginner readers' chapter book most of the time. It did, however, creep over into more interesting Middle Grade level reading from time to time. If it hadn't had the adult content the story would have been easily read by an elementary grade student. I'm still scratching my head over it. I will say one thing... back when I was an adult education literacy volunteer, I was always looking for beginner reader chapter books and MG which would not bore an adult, and this title would have been perfect. Is this a new way to get more adults to read?

July is my Summer in the City month here on the blog, where I read books set in New York City. This book is set in Harlem. I need to step up my MG game for A Dance With Books' LET US READ MIDDLE GRADE reading challenge, so I might read the first sequel back to back.
