2014 TOP TEN BLOG HOP: Day Three FAVE DEBUTS!

My list is a little, well, short. I only had eight debut authors whose books I rated above a three,  and seeing that the hop guidelines didn't say they had to be 2014 debuts, I snuck in a couple of end of 2013 debuts.

Yeah, I don't give too many FIVE STAR ratings, so my fours are more like other blogger's fives.

So here goes...

8. TABULA RASA
By Kristen Lippert-Martin

See my GOODREADS FOUR STAR review, HERE.

You can find some gems in the Netgalley Read Nows and this was one of them. Think of the best action flick you have ever seen, in book form, and this would be it. I love this cover, too!

7. NAPOLEON XYLOPHONE
by Frank Lambert

My FOUR STAR GOOREADS review, HERE.

A main character with a walking disability in a wheelchair that rivals anything 007 ever had. The author wanted to write a YA story, for his son, where the hero has a disability. Please go to Goodreads and read the synopsis, HERE, you will be happy you did.

6. SCHOOL OF CHARM
by Lisa Ann Scott

GOODREADS FIVE STAR REVIEW, HERE.

This Middle Grade is a little jewel!! I sometimes think it is fate when I win some ARCs from Goodreads First Reads because they are perfect for me, like this story. As I said in my review it is like Steel Magnolias meets Cinderella, and Diary of a Whimpy Kid. How's that for a unique combination? This is also one of those MGs that can be thoroughly enjoyed by YA lovers.

5. SUMMER ON THE SHORT BUS
by Bethany Crandell

My fun-filled FOUR STAR full blog review, HERE.

Painlessly teaches us a lesson about life.

4. BLINDED BY THE LIGHT
by Joe Kipling

Read my character interview, HERE.

This is not your usual Dystopian. You know how dystopians usually have a "here" and a "there"... well Kipling's "there" is very unique, and I rated it FOUR STARS!!

3. OF BREAKABLE THINGS
by A. Lynden Rolland

Read my glowing FOUR STAR blog review, HERE.

This novel was my heart this year. It is the book I have been championing in every way I could since I read it. And I will tell you a secret... it is only 99¢ right now as an ebook.

2. GATES OF THREAD AND STONE
by Lori M.Lee

FIVE STAR BLOG REVIEW, HERE!!

Lee has given me my brand new book boyfriend, Avan, and she also tricked me into liking a certain kind of immortal I usually don't care for (no not vampires). She does YA Fantasy right! This ebook is a bargin right now at $3.99.

1. IS A SUPER SPECIAL SECRET
BWHAHAHAHA

My number one book for 2014 will be revealed in a special New Years Eve blog review and it also happens to be from a debut author. Hmmmm...

  1. I haven't read any of those, though Tabula Rasa has been on my TBR for a while. Thanks for coming by my blog! :)

  2. I wasn't sure by the way Tabula Rasa ended if it was going to be more than just a stand alone, but the author announced the sequel a couple of months ago. It made me very happy. It is funny thinking about having a Contemporary on my most anticipated list!
