TELL ME TUESDAY #11

NUMBER ELEVEN
NOW & NEXT

Welcome to another chit-chat about our reading appetites! This feature, co-hosted by me and the lovely Brittersweet at PLEASE FEED the BOOKWORM, is a weekly, or bi-weekly, post (depending on your reading schedule) where we tell each other what we are reading now, and why, and what were are about to choose from our TBR pile next, and why. We are so curious why people read what they read.

NOW
Right now I am reading NEST by Esther Ehrlich. It is a Middle Grade, but it is written like an adult memoir about being twelve. It is about sixth grade in the early 70s, and although it is an interesting concept, the book is too self indulgent and makes esoteric references to '70s pop culture that current middle graders will not only not get, but not be the least bit interested in. I know this theme can be done correctly because I read a MG about the late 1960s, School of Charm, and gave it one of my rare five star ratings. Anyway, I am clomping along with this book because it is one of my ARCs for Read. Sleep. Repeat.'s ARC August Challenge (click the button on my sidebar if you are intertested).

NEXT
I am ultra excited to be reading...

It is a Middle Grade about the US internment camps for Japanese Americans during World War II. After reading the book blurb on Netgalley I requested it right away, but my request sat there. Last week another blogger had a link on Twitter to her review of Dash. I commented that I was dying to read it, but my NetG request was sitting there like a lump. She DMed me right away to ask me for my address and she mailed her ARC to me!! It arrived yesterday and I cannot wait to start reading it!

Don't forget to stop by and visit Pili at IN LOVE with HANDMADE, our first feature follower.
