THE SUNDAY POST #53

THE SUNDAY POST is a weekly wrap-up feature hosted by Kimba at the CAFFEINATED BOOK REVIEWER.

MONDAY
I posted the first two chapters of my Wattpad story HIDDEN MAGIC! Please don't read it on the mobile app because for some reason none of the edits I have done are showing up on that version. Weird.

I tell you all about what I finished reading for the Hiding Read-a-Thon.

THURSDAY

My last five star rated books.

This is a new monthly feature on my Children's blog, TICKLING DRAGONS, where I link up posts that my blogging buddies have done about what their kiddos are reading.

New masthead.
No new books. None! Not even an ARC.

LEMON MUFFINS! Why have I never had these before? Not lemon poppyseed... not lemon coconut... just LEMON. I have a feeling they are only a spring offering at my grocery store's wonderful bakery, so if anyone has a good recipe, PLEASE TELL ME! I bought them Friday evening and I have eaten three already. YUMMMMMMMMMMMY!
And it is snowing. It hasn't ended yet, but we are supposed to get 2-4 inches. Tuesday our high is going to be 21°F with a low of 12°F (-11°C). I am not happy. Heh.

Powerpuffing yourself was a big thing on Twitter Friday night and it leaked onto Facebook. Cartoon Network sponsored the page to promo the new Powerpuff 2016 series. The timing was perfect for me because the April Fools trick I played on my son Friday morning failed. I drew a black spider on the edge of the toilet paper and he didn't even see it, so I Powerpuffed him and posted it to his Facebook page! Sometimes it is not a good thing to be FB friends with your mother. Heh heh.
SEBASTIAN

Some of our SUNDAY POST buddies Powerpuffed themselves as well...

If you want to Powerpuff yourself you can do it: HERE.
If any other Sunday Posters did one let me know and give me the link. I will add you to the collection!

I went a little Powerpuffing crazy and did these, too...

Snow in April. It just sounds so wrong, doesn't it? We were suppose to get a really sunny weekend but all I see are clouds.

  2. yup snowing here too. All my kids games and practices have been cancelled this weekend which is good news for reading, writing and blogging but not so much for the garden I had just planted. Man that muffin looks WAY TOO GOOD. Now off to check out those two chapters of Hidden Magic.

    1. You planted in the garden? Oh no! I hope the snow melts quickly so there isn't any damage. Thank you so much for taking a peek at my story. :)

  3. I can't believe you got more snow! Yuck. I was outside getting some sun yesterday. Warm and breezy. My mother said it was snowing in Michigan too. I love Powerpuff girls. And the spider trick was too funny. I pull pranks on my son all the time. I hid a plastic lizard in the icebox and he sure got startled. LOL

    1. Ha ha, I will have to buy a plastic lizard to put in the fridge next time! The only time I have ever gotten a good reaction out of him is the time I glued a demon face to the bathroom mirror. Hehe. I want to be outside getting some sun! :)

    1. Thanks! And I hope the sunshine brings warmth with it. I think I hate the cold more than the snow! :)

  5. Wow look at the snow! It snowed here too- no fun but it's melting so we have that at least. LOL about Powerpuffing although I'm not sure I want to do that, you know? Ha ha.

Sammy Shine looks fun! And i need to get over to Wattpad and read your story!!

    1. Aww.. come on, Greg, you know you want to do some powerpuffing! Ha ha! I was happy when my son said all of the snow was gone when he got home at 7:00pm, but it is snowing hard again right now. Bummer. Thanks for taking a peek at my story. :)

  6. I love the Powerpuff Girls- I could only watch it when I visited my friends' houses or my grandparents' house because we never had cable tv growing up. I think it was only made more dear to me by that. I love the joke you played on Sebastian- that's why I'm not FB friends with my mom (that and she believes all those spam "foods that cause cancer" things that show up there).
Lemon muffins sound delish- I'd put a little zest in the batter and it would be ideal for spring. I don't have any recipes, but zest makes everything better. :)

    1. My childhood was before cable, so I didn't have to miss anything! I watched the Powerpuff Girls as an adult. Ha ha. I do remember we had trouble getting PBS out in the country, so when I went to my dad's for visitation weekends I was in heaven. You are right, it does make those shows more endearing. I love lemon zest! :)

    2. And I forgot. When my sister said she was going to give her old tablet to our mother I told her to warn me if she started a FB account, so I could make a second account for her to follow, hehe. I already have two friends that spam the foods that cause cancer things. :P

  7. I used to love Wattpad usually to satisfy my fanfiction needs!! I will check it out though!

Lemon muffins sound nice especially with think lemon icing on top!

Powerpuff is great, I have as you know (thanks and kisses for my nod!!) puffed myself and changed my borrowed actual powerpuff girl avatar to my own, I love it and am looking forward to the new series, I love cartoons!

  9. The Powerpuffing is awesome! My daughter loved The Powerpuff Girls when they were out the first time around and it was one of the shows I liked watching with her. Way better than Teletubbies which I always found myself staring at blankly. You have me craving lemon muffins now which of course leads to craving lemon bars and lemon pound cake and all things lemon! Have a great week!

    1. I love everything lemon, too. I tried growing a lemon tree from meyer lemon seeds twice and followed the instructions to a tee, but both of them died when they got about a foot tall. I might just have to try again. Maybe the third time will be a charm. :)

  10. Ouch, snow!?! Over here it's got a lil colder and rainy but thank goodness for now snow!! After the mild winter we've had, getting snow in April would kill me for sure!

Powerpuffing yourself was a lot of fun, even if I was a bit peeved while trying to get the image downloaded to my laptop...

  11. Ah, I finally got around to checking out your posts this week! I feel like I'm always 4 days behind everyone else, heh. I loved the Powerpuff app! I use to draw myself as a PP character all the time as a kid (while in my PP decorated room. There is nothing like a dose of nostalgia. I'm glad I'm not where you are, I don't think I could handle anymore cold weather. It feels really nice out here, but there is almost always a breeze that makes me wish it were summer.

    1. Our spring weather is crazy up here. The last few years we haven't really gotten spring, it has going from freezing cold to hot summer weather. Climate change is real and living in Upstate NY! I never watched the Powerpuff girls when it was originally on because Sebastian had no interest in it, but I watched reruns of it about four years ago and loved it!
