I haven't done a public year-long reading challenge in a long time, but this Massachusetts Center for the Book challenge looks comfortably doable.

I'M IN!

Instead of a book set in Massachusetts you could read one set in your own state or country. You can find the Genre Wheel spinner for their February category: HERE.

READ-A-THONS
I haven't remembered to do a D24HRead-A-Thon in years. I have marked this April's event on my calendar and set reminders. Because my blog theme this year is A Year of Brontë I'll be reading The Professor by Charlotte Brontë.

CARIB-A-THON
This will be Carib-A-Thon's seventh year! I have participated in all six of the previous events. It's co-hosted by RunwrightReads and ComfyCozyUp. It runs
for two weeks starting the second week of June. You can view my 2026 Goodreads reading selections shelf: HERE.

DICKENS
This is my annual Dickens Year-Long Slow Read for this year.

A YEAR OF BRONTE
I haven't done a yearly blog reading theme since 2022 when I read a majority of Black and Native American/First Nations authors. I would always skip a year in-between and 2024 was supposed to be A Year of Middle Grade, but it didn't happen. After Liis from Cover to Cover and I read Villette, instead of our usual re-read of Jane Eyre, for our Women's History Month buddy read last year, I started thinking about reading other Charlotte Brontë books, and maybe doing a Wuthering Heights buddy read with Liis because neither of us cared for Emily Brontë's writing in our younger years. Then I started thinking about Anne Brontë! This led me to declaring 2026 A Year of Brontë. I will be posting about the particulars next week.

JANUARY'S THEME
DRAGON DAZE & ROBOT RAVES
My January blog theme used to be strictly dragons, however... seeing that Science Fiction is my favorite genre I felt I should also be starting the year with some Sci-Fi fare too, so four years ago  I changed it to dragons and robots.

I am re-reading A Wizard of Earthsea as my first dragon book this month.

GOODREADS
This will be my first robot themed book for this month.

Last year I started reading a Nonfiction related to my monthly theme. Does anyone have an idea for a book about dragon lore or robots?

What are your reading challenges this year?

Happy New Year and happy reading to you!
