HELLO NOVEMBER - Sci-Fi Month #SciFiMonth #NovemberSciFiMonth #ScienceFiction #ReadingScienceFiction #ReadingSciFi

HELLO NOVEMBER
SCI-FI MONTH

I'm going to try to bring back this feature on the first of each month.

NOVEMBER IS SCI-FI MONTH

MY READING LIST
It's the first book in a post-apocalyptic trilogy. I've had this ebook for what seems like forever. I more recently picked up the other two ebooks for $1.99 each, but I will probably only read this one this month.

THE GRAPHIC NOVEL
I also have this to thumb through. It was also $1.99.

GOODREADS
Another Dystopian. I've seen this book floating around (pun intended, ha ha) and my curiosity was piqued. A lot of people who frequent my public library's weekly What Are You Reading This Weekend Facebook page post read it. Even though most of them didn't care for it they were all Chick Lit book club readers, so I'm taking their opinions with a grain of salt. No harm, no foul if I don't like it because it's a Libby borrow.

VINTAGE SCIENCE FICTION
I try to read at least one vintage Sci-Fi title in November. This will check a book off both my Goodreads "feebies-and-99¢" shelf and my Pattie Smith reading list. I have a list of books Pattie, the Godmother of Punk, has mentioned in her books and on her Substack.

NATIVE AMERICAN AND FIRST NATIONS
Yet another Dystopian Post-Apocalyptic story! November is also Native American Heritage Month, so I try to read a Science Fiction title by either a Native American or First Nations author. This one will be a Hoopla borrow.

NONFICTION
Rod Serling, creator of The Twilight Zone, grew up in my city and I am acquaintances with his daughter, Anne, the author of this book. Last month I read a Nonfiction book for spooky season, so I thought I would try to read one every month in tandem with my blog's reading theme. I've had the ebook since it published in 2013. I even bought a hardcover for her to sign when she's in town, over six years ago, and haven't wanted to ask her to sign it yet because I still hadn't read it. I know she wouldn't know, but I'm just weird like that, ha ha. Anyway... I hope to read it this month.

This is the statue in the park where the carousel and bandstand that inspired the TZ episode "Walking Distance" reside. It's not far from our house. Fun fact: my son graduated from the Rod Serling High School of Fine Arts. *cue Twilight Zone music*
