THE SATURDAY SOUP
ELEVEN
A SPOONFUL OF MY LIFE
THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY
AND A SOUP RECIPE
Welcome to The Saturday Soup! It's a floating feature I hope to post once a month, but if I can't find the time there's no pressure. I will be giving a life update and sharing a soup recipe.
I am linking up with The Sunday Post, hosted by The Caffeinated Reviewer.
THE GOOD
This is what I have chosen for my birthday book!
THE BAD
Zuzu was shaking his head and scratching at his ear, so my son took him to the vet. It was $268 for the office visit, an ear swab for a bacterial test, ten days worth of ear drops and a week's worth of an antibiotic. Yesterday, four days after his last ear drops, he has started shaking his head again. Ugh. I can't figure out how he developed a bacterial infection in the first place when he doesn't go outside. I looked on Chewy and the ear drops require a prescription. I hope when I call they will just refill his ear drops and not make us pay for another office visit.
THE UGLY
Discus has started putting two large ugly ad sections above AND below the comments. If you want ad-free commenting it's $18.00 A MONTH now! This is for blogs averaging 350K and below. They couldn't do some lesser levels for blogs averaging 100K or less and 25K or less? I would bite the bullet and pay $4-$5.00 a month, but not $18.00. When you delete the widget the comments don't revert back to Blogger comments. They are just gone. For me that means about ten years worth of comments. There's an edit that gives a choice of where you want the ads and I chose below only, but as you will see when you scroll down it doesn't work. I'm still trying to find out if there is a way to import the Discus comments to Blogger, but I haven't found anything yet. I'm going to remove the widget on Monday, regardless of what I find. I have asked on Reddit, but haven't gotten any responses.

I loved the Discus' single comment notifications. I am so sad.

How many of you have ad blockers? What ads do you see below? Are they as ugly as these? I get really random irrelevant ads because I always block cookies on websites I visit.

I first came across the Half Baked Harvest website on Instagram. I have three of her cookbooks as ebooks.
