A little foreword from me, La La. I have posted this blog entry before I found eleven nominees, as per the rules, *see below*, because things have gotten so competitive in the book blogosphere that not only are new bloggers not posting their stats (this made it difficult to find qualifying bloggers and I had to start emailing), many of the bloggers I contacted via email and Twitter DMs, who qualified, didn't want to be nominated because they didn't want it known they had less than 200 followers. This used to be an award everyone wanted because it showed that other bloggers had taken notice of your blog and felt, that even at this early stage, you were an asset to the blogging community. This award is about spreading the blogger LOVE. The LIEBSTER is usually the first award a blogger gets, and I for one am going to be proud of it, and it will continue to be displayed on my sidebar as long as I have this blog, no matter how many other awards I receive (or don't) in the coming years.
I didn't want the bloggers who were excited about receiving this award (including me) to have to wait for it, so I am posting it with five nominees. I am going to make this blog entry into a page and will continue to nominate rookie bloggers well past the eleven rule. I am also going to challenge the awardees on my list to visit their fellow nominees and leave a blog post. I will go back and do the same with my list mates on Brittersweet's blog. I think these "bent" rules should be fine within the spirit of the LIEBSTER AWARD. I also challenge the book blogging community to to come together and make this award nomination as welcome as it once was. If anyone has any awardee suggestions, please leave them in the comments and I will add them to the list. ~ La La
Thank-you Brittersweet from PLEASE FEED the BOOKWORM for nominating me for a LIEBSTER BLOG AWARD!!
"The Liebster Award is given to up and coming bloggers who have less than 200 followers. So, what is a Liebster? The meaning: Liebster is German and means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome. Isn't that sweet? Blogging is about building a community and it's a great way to connect with other bloggers and help spread the word about newer bloggers/blogs." ~ We Loved Here BLOG.
