This will be short and sweet.
I need more followers. I know that comes with time, but there is a huge disparity between my page "hits" and my followers. I would love to be able to have active discussions on my blog. I will appreciate any and all suggestions from my fellow bloggers.
I followed you!! I love your blog wall paper--so cool! Getting followers is difficult, I know. I just don't worry about it anymore. I've been on blogger for a few years, and the people who seem to have a lot of followers are really consistent about commenting on other's blogs, are religious about their posts, and usually stick to a theme. Good luck with it!!
ReplyDeleteI do comment on other blogs a lot. I follow mostly book bloggers on Twitter and always visit the posts they tweet about. I try and leave at least a few words every time I visit a blog. I thought books were my theme. Is there something more specific? Thank-you for the help. I will return the blog visit. :)
DeleteI know what you mean. I also would like more followers, but I haven't been blogging very long and I am trying to not worry about it.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had some advice to give you.
Thanks, and I will reciprocate the visit. :)
DeleteIt read only middle grade, so I looked at your middle grade blog. I would have liked to see the full review right there, instead if having to click through. Also, the mix of upper and lower case letters in your post titles makes them hard to read. I have found that have a narrow focus makes it easier for readers who are looking for a narrow range if books (which many people do) to find what they want. When book blogs have too many movie reviews or personality leakage, I lose interest. I wouldn't worry too much about followers, though. I've been blogging 8 years and don't even have 300, but I still think I do a good job on my blog. Hope this helps.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure what you mean about clicking through to see a full review. I haven't reviewed any of the Middle Grade books yet, only featured them, unless you are talking about the links to a couple Goodreads mini-reviews, while they are waiting for a full blog review. The authors I work with prefer the books be linked to Goodreads or their author blog even after they have a full review on the blog. I like to keep them happy. :) I don't have movie, or personality blog posts on here, so I am kind of confused about that comment. And splitting up my books by age range on different pages is narrowing things down farther than most of the other blogs I am familiar with.
DeleteI don't have a lot of followers either, but don't think about it much these days. BUT--have some advice that may help. Maybe take part in some meme's that are children literature based, like Marvelous Middle Grade Mondays and I think theres is one for Picture Books on Friday. There is many a meme out there for you to check out...It's Monday, What Are You Reading is another one that comes to mind. Good luck...me too on your background, it is made of awesome!
ReplyDeleteThanks, I will look into those. I have run across the MG and picture book features a few times in my bloggish wanderings. Thank-you for dropping by. I will return the favor.
