TELL ME TUESDAY #420 - Last. Now. Next. #Books #BookBlog #Reading #iRead #AmReading #WhatAreYouReading #WhatAreYouReadingNow

TELL ME TUESDAY
NUMBER FOUR HUNDRED AND TWENTY
LAST. NOW. NEXT.

TELL ME TUESDAY is a floating feature, depending on your reading style, where you tell us what you read last, what you are reading now, what you will be reading next from your TBR pile, and why.
I am curious why people read what they read, so tell me!

ONE BOOK A WEEK
I'm still trying to keep my reading down to one book a week.

(4.5)
LITERARY FICTION
STANDALONE
FRIENDSHIP
RELATIONSHIPS
LGBTQ
PHYSICAL DISABILITY
CHILDHOOD TRAUMA
MENTAL ILLNESS
Published 2015 - Libby Borrow
This was my seventh NYT Best 100 Books of the 21st Century title. It is not reading for the faint hearted; that's for sure. It probably needs every trigger warning known to man. It's an extraordinary story.

GOODREADS
YOUNG ADULT
GRAPHIC NOVEL SERIES
FRIENDS AND FAMILY
GRIEVING
AUTISM
GHOSTS
Published 2018•2021•2023 - Own Ebooks
I have re-read the first book, Sheets, every October for the past few years. This year I also re-read the second title, Delicates, because I found out there had been a third book, Lights, published in 2023. The second and third books have a wonderfully realistic autism inclusion. I adore this series. I'm giving a heads up on the first title being Middle Grade, but the last two being Young Adult with dating themes and suicide content.

MIDDLE GRADE/YOUNG ADULT
MANGA
FRIENDSHIPS
PHYSICAL DISABILITIES
WITCHES
Published 2020•2021•2022 - Libby Borrows
In September and October I read volumes 7-10 of Witch Hat Atelier. I would have continued on with the last two books in the series, but for some reason my library's Libby inventory didn't have them. I have requested they purchase them. I hate that.
I love this series, but something very odd happened between volumes eight and nine. The content drastically changed to Young Adult from Middle Grade. The previous eight volumes had typical Middle Grade (ages 7/8-12) themes. They weren't even what is considered upper Middle Grade (ages 12-14). All of a sudden there's all this sexual tension between two of the younger characters that I would place around eleven years old, and then a warning flag about a scene with molestation of two students. You can see a shift in the cover art, too. I'm sad I can't recommend the series as Middle Grade any longer because you know the young readers would want to continue on to see how the series arc ends. The story is about team work and using one's talents and skills for helping others. I'm heartbroken.

GOODREADS
MIDDLE GRADE SERIES
TITLES SIX & SEVEN
REALISTIC CONTEMPORARY
FAMILY AND FRIENDS
FUNNY PETS
Published 2022•2023 - Libby Borrows
I read the last two books of The Vanderbeekers series: On the Road and Ever After. This series is Middle Grade perfection for me. The stories take on some serious subjects, but remain positive and fun. And there are always funny pets to add some lightheartedness and laughs. I will miss the Vanderbeeker family.

I READ OTHER BOOKS IN OCTOBER AND NOVEMBER BUT I WILL ADD THEM NEXT TIME

ADULT FICTION
CLASSIC SCIENCE FICTION
Published 1981 - Own Hardcover & Ebook
I'm still buddy re-reading this with my son. It's my third time reading it and his second time. I had started my annual Thanksgiving re-read of Little Woman, so I had taken some time away from this, but I will be back to it soon.

GOODREADS
YOUNG ADULT
CLASSIC
COMING OF AGE
FAMILY
Published 1868 - Own Hardcovers & Ebook
As I said above, this is a book I've been reading every long Thanksgiving weekend for the past few years. It's a story full of thankfulness and gratitude, so it's well suited to the holiday. It's been taking me longer to read because I was hit hard by the latest strain of Covid and was not well enough to even listen to audiobooks.

MIDDLE GRADE
INKWORLD SERIES FOUR
FANTASY
Published November 12th 2024 - Edelweiss ARC
I was going to re-read the original trilogy before I read this one because book number three was published in 2007, but I remember quite a bit and Baz did a trilogy re-read a couple of years ago, so if I have any questions about past events, I can ask him.

What are you reading? Tell me!
