THE SUNDAY POST #51

THE SUNDAY POST is a weekly wrap-up feature hosted by Kimba at the CAFFEINATED BOOK REVIEWER.

The blog had a little spring update with a new background and font. I changed some of the sidebar buttons, too, for a lighter feel.

I tell you how I ended up loving THE SERPENT KING, after a bumpy first 20%, and rated it 5 stars on Goodreads.

WEDNESDAY'S WEIRD WORD was...

WEDNESDAY
There is a fab GIVEAWAY on this reveal you won't want to miss: a Kindle Fire or $50 gift card, INTERNATIONAL!

THURSDAY

Cait at PAPER FURY gives us another post full of helpful blogging tips.

Tired of the sticky note curl-ups?
See the remedy: HERE.

There is a list of the models that won't automatically update and some helpful tips: HERE. Remember, if you have a Kindle that has not been connected to WiFi since the beginning of October get it charged and connected. A member of the COYER group said her older models took a long time to update once she initiated it, so don't leave it until the last minute. Updating via PC hook-up after the 22nd will be a pain.

UPTOWN FUNK
Just in case you have never seen this... and even if you have because I watch it every time someone shares it! It's that good.

BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE FOR WRITERS
I didn't quite finish last week, so if I don't post it on Monday it will go up on Saturday.

LL&A's MARCH TAG
The questions haven't been posted yet, so I have no idea what day I will be posting.

I realize that my comment boxes have shrunken in size. I have been waiting for Blogger to get back to me for a while. Has anyone ever had Blogger tech support get back to them? I also tried a "gHelp" hashtag I found on Twitter, and even though they had been actively answering questions yesterday they stopped when it came to mine. The story of my life. Ha ha. Anyway, I wanted to let you know that I am trying to get it fixed.

Have a stellar week!

  1. Funny how some books can start of shaky but end up becoming favorites, and others start off great but then seem to lack something. Hope you will have a great next week.

    1. Thanks, I have had too many start off wonderful and end up meh lately, so having TSK turn around was gratifying. :)

  2. Hey I like the new look! And such a great video- they don't do it like that anymore. So much class... I've never had to deal with blogger support (knock on wood) so I don't know, but I hope they can help. It's always something, right??

Hope you're having a good and relaxing weekend!

    1. They did get to me this morning, in a round about way. They asked me where I contacted Blogger, even though I had said it was via "report an issue". They asked for my blog link, so we shall see. Heh heh.

  3. I love those Uptown Funk videos - so clever and such a lovely reminder of so many movies!!!

The Sunday Post is the only book blogging linkup I participate in and when I see your posts I'm reminded of how many other options are out there. I really must investigate further!

    1. Yes! The link up features really help with viewer traffic. Plus I have found some regular visitors through link-ups. Some have even turned into buddies. :)

    1. What they have commented feels like a run around starting, but I hope I am wrong. The guy also said the "report an issue" link is not where you report problems, ha ha. What?! I wonder where we are supposed to report our issues then? It makes no sense. XD

  7. I didn't notice the comment box looking any different to normal on my computer/internet??? That probably doesn't help though. Bleh, to blogger's help service. It's basically non-existent! D: And I like the new springy look!! YAY THAT YOU GET SPRING! *sobs that I get winter*
And omg thank you for sharing my post. <3

    1. Thanks! I think I updated my old little grey Kindle; maybe? Ha ha. I restarted it and it took a little while, but not a much as the giurl on the COYER group said, so I am not sure. Lol. I am happy my two new ones did it automatically. :)

  11. Good luck with the Blogger support (I generally just google until something pops up that mimics my issue). Maybe it's just a thing with my computer and Chrome? O_o
I love the Uptown Funk mash-up- I spent many a sick day watching Shirley Temple's movies when I was a kid, so it brings back fond memories. I've always wanted to tap-dance like the old movie stars could.
I like the new look- it reminds me spring is coming!

    1. I was a huge Shirley Temple fan! I watched them with my grandmother on television many Saurdays and Sundays. I wanted to tap dance too, but my mother wanted me to play the piano, so she won on the lessons. Ha! :)

  12. Love the new look!

Yes I tried to contact Blogger support early last year when they disabled my blog due to it being inappropriate or something, which of course is crap but trying to get it reinstated was a nightmare, I very nearly migrated to WordPress, the horror!

  13. Oh my gawd! What a nightmare! I remember when they said they were going disable blogs with "mature" content. They finally stopped after they realized it was going to be too difficult to determine what "mature" content meant. :)
