TELL ME TUESDAY #53

TELL ME TUESDAY is a feature that oozed from my post Twitter party fried-brains. It is a weekly, or bi-weekly feature (depending on your reading style), where you tell us what you are reading now, and why, and what you will be reading in the future from your tbr pile, and why. I am oh so curious why people read what they read. So tell me!

I am in a reading slump because of this book and not for good reasons. I rated it one star.

The ending was such a torturous read that it burned me out. I wanted to DNF because the finale got too ridiculous, to quote my GOODREADS REVIEW...
"The finale read like an unedited brain puke of a first draft. It was like listening to a five year old tell a made up story at the dinner table."

She either didn't do her homework on wolves , or she just ignored their biology to fit the needs of her story. If that is what she wanted to do she should have reworked it as a Middle Grade Fantasy. This book left me cold, just like her wolves out in the winter wind and snow.

I uploaded VICIOUS to my Kindle, but I just can't read right now.

What are you reading? Tell me!

    1. I am hoping too. Sometimes if I start a good book with text-to-speech it gets me going. Weird, I know, but anything that bumps my slump is good. Thanks for TMTing again!

  2. I hate when books put me into a reading slump. Sometimes I have to do a reread of a book I know I love to help bust out of it. I'm okay with endings that are on the contrived side but something that clearly shows the author did no research or is just so insane it's beyond impossible drive me nuts.

    1. It was like reading a first draft loose train of thought. It is from a big publishing house, too. I am wondering where the editors were.

  3. Sometimes I wonder how things get published in the first place. I hope you like Vicious! It was quite different than ADSOM. I didn't like it quite as much, but it still was really good.

    1. When people are going to be paying for a book it needs to be a finished product. I know this is an ARC, but these problems are beyond what they would even consider fixing at this point. These were things that should have been dealt with in early edits. There has been a lot of ugh and meh coming out of the bigger houses lately. It seems like it is becoming quantity over quality.

    1. I think I am going to try my text-to-speech trick. And I do hope you like TWW better, it won't take much, lol. Speech is such a weird word when you look at it enough. Ha!
