TELL ME TUESDAY #31

How do you like the special Valentines Day motif?

TELL ME TUESDAY is a feature that oozed from the fried brains of myself and my best blogging buddy, after a mind twisting Armchair BEA Twitter party.  It is a weekly, or bi-weekly feature (depending on your reading style), where you tell us what you are reading now, and why, and what you will be reading in the future from your tbr pile, and why. I am oh so curious why people read what they read. So tell us!!

Also, go and take a peek at REX ROBOT REVIEW'S TMT.

Our friend, Pili, from IN LOVE WITH HANDMADE is taking a well deserved break this week.

I have a headache this week with books I am hungering to read!

I have been a good girl and have been reading my review ARC of Lucas MacKenzie and the Midnight London Ghost Show from Month9 Books.

BUT

I have been sneaking bits and pieces of The Infinite.

AND

I read the first chapter of Invasion of the Tearling.
(and wanted to keep on reading)

THEN THIS CAME

... in my Book Outlet order ...

This was one of my most anticipated from TWO YEARS AGO!

Psst... guys, it's Valentines week.

AND

I just got Amazon Prime and I could borrow, The Dream Thieves, or The Retribution of Mara Dyer.

AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Are you reading anything special for Valentines  Day?

  1. Don't think I'm reading anything special for Valentine's Day other than the ones I need to read and review, but I hope I can squish in something I have wanted to read for a long time! I really want to have Amazon Prime, too, just to watch the shows on there that I can't find anywhere else, but it's so expensive for me :( Sigh, sadness... And aaaalso, I'll be starting the Queen of te Tearling soon~~ Soon being as soon as I finish the books I need to review :( Hahahaha...

  2. Gawd!!!!! I know! Trying to keep the review books read AND reading what your heart desires is really difficult. I canceled our cable because it was costing us $90 a month and we barely watch tv anymore. Prime is only $99 a year so thats less than $IO a month, plus you get movies, free two day shipping, some music thing, and borrowing one book a month.

    1. We are going on a year of no cable, and it was the single best choice we've made in awhile. We have prime, Hulu Plus and Netflix - so for all three of those subscriptions we pay around $30 a month and it's awesome! I will never, ever go back!

    2. Our cable company has gotten really bad. They charge people different amounts for the same service and then if you catch them they say they can only refund the previous month's difference.

  3. Thanks for the shout out! Hehe! Also, wow, that is a lot of good books to read. I usually go back and forth, one review, one personal, one review, one personal, etc. Although, if I were you I would drop everything and read The Dream Thieves. SO. GOOD. :D

    1. Ugh, I always seem to not have enough time betwee when I get the review books and when the review is due, to read much of anything else. I won a $10 gift card yesterday and bought the His Dark Materials trilogy in an ebook bundle for $12, so now I have even more to read!

  4. I don't really read for the seasons, but it's a great idea. I'm going to have to do that:)

    1. Ha ha, I don't really, either. I bought a Christmas novella because other bloggers were hounding me about doing a holiday read, but I never read it. Lol. I just thought V-Day would be a good excuse to read the Love and Chocolate book. :)

    1. You go girl! I think maybe I will marathon read the chocolate book on Saturday. Hopefully my son will remember to get me some chocolate so I can eat some while I am reading! :)

  6. I don't really have anything planned for V-Day...I'm working, does that count as a plan? I'm not sure what I'll be reading then either since I'm blazing through my current read (All the Bright Places) and I'll probably be on something different by then. Hopefully there will be a supply of chocolate in the house so I can eat it while at work. :P

  7. I am curious about what your opinion will be on All the Bright Places. I have been seeing a mxed bag of reviews. Yes to chocolate! I love any holiday where chocolate candy is a thing. :)

  8. OH MY GOD I AM SO EXCITED YOU ARE READING IN THE AGE OF LOVE AND CHOCOLATE!!!!!!!!!!!!
No pressure. But I am really hoping you love it, (or at least enjoy it). I think it does some interesting things, and it has some of my favourite characters and character evolutions (is that a thing?) I've ever come across.

I'm so disappointed! I was planning to do TMT this week...but I got called into work 5 hours early hahaha. Ah well, I'll have stocked up on plenty to talk about for next week then. And even if you don't write a review on the Zevin book/books and even if you hate it I want to know what you think about it/them!

    1. I loved the first two chcolate books! One of the members of the MyLeaky book club was saying she listened to an author interview on her PBS station about All These Things I've Done and the premise of the book sounded much different from the other Dysyopians that were flooding the market at that time. I had my sister get it from the library for me and I adored it. I ended up being the only one from the club to read it. It is a shame I couldn't convince anyone because as you know it is ultra-fab. Even though it seemed impossible to me, I loved the second book even more! All the chocolate "stuff" was ridiculously interesting. This is why In the Age... was one of my most anticipateds of 2013. I borroed the first two books from the library, so I just bought all three in hardcover from Book Outlet. I am mad though because for some reason they black marker ticked them on the top edge instead of the bottom edge. :( I will definitely be doing a full trilogy review. Maybe I'll have a chocolate tea giveaway with it. :)

  9. I'll be reading the 2nd in the Downside series, and wrapping up on the 3rd in The Edge series by IA! My hubs got metal in his eye today at work so I gather we will be doing a whole lot of nothing this weekend. Totally fine by me, only thing I like about Valentines day is all the candy that goes on sale the next day. CHOCOLATE.

    1. Ouch! Sending good energies to your husband! Yeah, CHOCOLATE, it tastes just as good coming from my son as it would anyone else. Lol. I am looking forward to reading the first Downside book. :)

    1. I have always celebrated with my friends and family, too. So having the ex long gone for the holiday is no big deal! *eats all the chocolate*
